I just started trying some Thai food lately. I don't like food too spicy but do enjoy some spice. This restaurant is pretty spacious and had plenty of seats available. They even had a small bar. They have 2 entrances in front and one has been permanently closed as on the inside there is a booth there. Instead of eliminating that entrance they put a small sign that says to use the entrance to the left. I was seated nearby and could see out the window and many customers went to that door first. They should address that.
They had a large menu. I stuck to what I had tried recently to see how dishes may vary at different restaurants. I had a Thai tea. It was good and similar to Thai tea I had tried before. It is sweet and light. I have come to like Thai tea.
I had the Thai dumplings and chose to have them fried versus steamed. They consisted of marinated ground pork and chicken mixed with mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrot, onion, and bamboo shoots; wrapped in a thin pastry shell, steamed or fried, and served with a sesame garlic soy sauce. They came 6 per order. They were decent sized and filling. It would be a great choice to share amongst the table.
I wanted to try a soup and the pho was an entire meal so I chose the Tom Yum Soup. Their spicy lemongrass soup is made from a unique combination of shrimp or chicken, lemongrass, Siamese ginger, kaffir lime leaves, lemon juice, chili paste, mushrooms, tomatoes and green onion. This version of Tom Yum was okay but did not compare to what I have tasted before. Some of the ingredients could have been cut into smaller pieces. It is a small side soup so a decent choice to accompany a meal. I would try a different soup next time.
My entrée choice was drunken stir fry. This Thai dish combines fresh herbs and spices with hot chili peppers, fresh garlic, bell pepper, onion, mushroom, broccoli, snow pea, and basil leaves. It was a dinner sized dish and could have been the single item to order and still be a complete meal. I was disappointed that it was just okay in my opinion. I didn't care for the preparation. The chicken was a bit tough to me and came in large pieces. I had to use a knife on several items and I have never done that with a stir fry dish. I think the dish was overcooked. I don't think I would order this item again here. It was good but did come even close to one I tried elsewhere.
This was a pricey meal for the value I got from it. I spent $50 for one person and did not leave satisfied with the meal. I would be willing to try again but many options out there for similar or...
Read moreThis is one of my definite “go to places” when I have group visiting and someone wants a real curry dish, or general Thai food that isn’t fast food or chain style standardized. Food is quality and prepared with consistency of skilled chefs. Service has always been great- staff has always been very accommodating (nice to the overly picky customer I sometimes bring lol). I enjoy dining in the restaurant but avoid driving that area of 91 between 5-6 pm because of traffic because I’m inpatient. Parking is not an issue. It’s been really busy a few times for dinner, service took a little longer which is fine because food will never be rushed-they will not cut corners just to turn more tables. Even when it’s that busy, the staff remained friendly and helpful . I also use takeout and delivery: always consistent food quality. Containers for takeout meals are good quality and the food still has a nice presentation if you serve it to guests. My favorite foods/dishes include: Thai Tea. The dumplings/steamed are flavorful with every bite and never undercooked or overcooked. Skewered Beef- always consistently tender, perfect seasoning, reheats well at home. Crab Rangoon - doesn’t taste like its only filled with cream cheese like most place. Never greasy or overcooked. Vegetable Pho Soup- vegetables are fresh! The stock is definitely not from a can- it’s made fresh. Cucumber Salad/ always perfect! Curry chicken: every person I bring who is a true Thai foodie absolutely loves this dish- and the curry is just “spicy/hot” it has a real flavor to it. Yes- they can make it as spicy as you need it! Ancient Ayudhaya (grilled salmon filet) : I have never had this taste as amazing anywhere else. I won’t even ask for it at any other restaurant because it can’t compare. My guest who don’t really like salmon live it! And the other favorite: Siamese Chow Mein which you would think could be gotten anywhere and it should be consistent- but surprisingly the best we have ever had! You can actually taste several underlying ingredients enhancing the overall quality...
Read moreWOW, that is about all I can say without sounding fake or silly. We have not had great Thai in almost 20 years and that was in Dallas, TX. The location is easy to find and the access is acceptable, for gimps like me, physical access to the facility is paramount, the door threshold is about an inch, so it's a bit of a fight, but doable. Access through the patio for a smoother and easier entry, only one door and very low threshold. We started with Summer Rolls and Steamed Dumplings, the Summer Rolls were outstanding, the peanut sauce perfect and the flavors fresh and vibrant. A hint of mint, fresh veggies and perfectly cooked vermicelli in the wrapper. The dumplings were huge and appeared to be handmade as well, very flavorful and perfectly steamed. The sauce was just right with a nice sweetness and soy balance. I chose the Panang Sauce with Pork and Jasmine rice while my wife got the old standard Pad Thai noodles with Shrimp. The curry was nice and thick, the way it's supposed to be, the fresh basil and nice chunks of veggies and pork were wonderful, I would have liked a bit more of the curry, but that is a personal preference. The Pad Thai was very tasty, the shrimp cooked perfectly and the noodles had that special flavor that this dish is known for and that most restaurants can't seem to get right. All in all I would say we were shocked and surprised by the quality, we will be going back, it's a bit of a trek, but for this quality, well worth it. I almost forgot to mention the service, we were greeted and seated by a wonderful server, she was very attentive and got the food out at a nice pace, she kept up with everything, she was pleasant and engaging even though she seemed to be the only server there, taking care of the patio and the other tables, she was getting quite busy by the...
