My husband and I visited Town Square Gallery in Murfreesboro, Arkansas today-during the off season, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the woman who greeted us was rude and unwelcoming. When I told her we were just looking, she said she needed to tell us about the store "otherwise you won't know what you're looking at." Instead of offering a warm welcome, she made critical remarks about every item we looked at, which felt more like judgment than genuine engagement. While it was clear that she was knowledgeable about the pieces, her demeanor was off-putting and made us feel uncomfortable. It almost seemed like she assumed we couldn’t afford anything in the store.
Even after we decided to make a purchase, the lack of basic courtesy was striking. There was no “thank you” or any kind of polite acknowledgment when completing the transaction, which left a sour taste in our mouths. Tbere were no other customers in the gallery and as we explored the neighboring stores, it didn't look as though anyone came in after us. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning to nor recommending Town Square Gallery. It's unfortunate because the artwork itself was interesting and made by exceptionally talented crafts people, but the lack of customer service overshadows the entire experience. 10/10, would...
Read moreThe woman who sits behind the desk is extremely rude. We walked in and she said “Can I Help You?” But not in a nice polite way. Her tone was “why are you here?”. We simply said we were looking around. The interactions with her continued to go downhill, she was rude to another patron who asked about “purple rocks” she replied “last time I check they were amethyst.” They left right after that. On the window of the store it says they sell souvenirs, shirts, fossils among other things, so I thought this was a souvenir store. We went in and I quickly realized it was full of beautiful art. The signage is misleading and frankly we wouldn’t have gone into the store had we known. Since it’s obvious she only wants a select clientele she really should change the signage and perhaps have someone who is more of a people person handle the client...
Read moreWe stopped on our way to dig for diamonds and the employee working, Heather, was a delight. We didn't dig up any diamonds but the gallery has everything including local artwork and gifts, stones from local mines and all over the world, and artifacts from around the world. The price points run the full range from a few dollars to thousands. We returned the next evening, after digging for quartz crystals all day, and the owner, Robin, was welcoming in spite of the state of our clothes and the red sand falling off of us. She opened cases and pulled out tray after tray of faceted stones, crystals and fossils. We did a ton of shopping and this was definitely a highlight from our visit, and much easier than digging for diamonds...
