This place is not what it seems. They claim to offer great amenities but don’t let their ads fool you. There is no complimentary breakfast, their pool/slide closed without warning (apparently it hadn’t been taken care of or water treated in a month), and they claim to have those amenities 365 days per year. Our room had a mold spot in the ceiling in the bathroom, the shower was short, the shampoo/body wash was a liquidy blue substance in a dispenser like soap. They claim to be a boutique hotel but it is not. They have no connection to the local businesses (I would have expected soap from a local business or at least little bottles like most hotels that is a bit more upscale; maybe homemade biscuits and local jam from a restaurant nearby for breakfast, or special coffee or something from the nearby restaurants…nope. The only thing this hotel has to offer is a mostly clean room (we took the comforter thing off bc who knows if that’s been cleaned by any hotel… flies in our room but I guess they provide a fly swatter so you know, amenities), a kid’s playground, and people accessed the sluice for gravel brought back from the diamond field. We didn’t access it but some did. We were just disappointed to find that the “boutique” hotel was nothing like a boutique hotel and the amenities they claim aren’t available. The girl running the place (not the owner, but a sweet younger girl) was very kind and tried to make things better when we said we wanted a refund and to leave early. The owners wouldn’t authorize a refund for the last night, so we lost money, but we left early anyway. I’d rather spend my vacation enjoying my hotel rather than stay here. Just be warned it’s...
Read moreThis place is a scam! Day of check-in you'll be scammed. Think they're a Marriott or something superior! $310 I paid for 2 nights then was hit with inconvenience fee on the checkin day. that I also was told it was going to be $150 and be refunded in a week. It ended up being $172.50, not $150, and 30 day hold! Also I purchased a smoking room and on the receipt in small print says recommended not to smoke. They even have labels on the doors which one's are smoking and which one's aren't and will definitely deny that there wasn't a option just to scam you! This place will charge you $100 for a poop mark left in the toilet. They have a full list of things to charge you for because they hate cleaning, which the bill could easily hit over $1000 in hidden charges. Watch out for wet feet and tile floor while exiting the shower the most dangerous part of this place, you can seriously get hurt! If you have dust allergies I wouldn't recommend it. Bed frames stick out far from bed can cause someone some injury as well if not paying attention. No overnight service so if something is clogged something isn't working or accidentally lock yourself out you're s.o.l. Since there was no overnight service and they leave the open sign on all night you'll have people roll in thinking they're open and start reving their vehicle or honk to wake someone up. would recommend going down the road to queen of diamonds spend less for 2 nights not hit with a inconvenience fee, plus miniature golf, the rooms are cleaned and not pretend clean. Someone is always on the property here. Nashville will be the best area to stay if you're looking for convenience as of things to...
Read moreThis is an older Motel that has been updated with paint, laminate/tile floors, and themed mining artwork to go with the spirit of Crater of Diamonds Park. ||The room was very clean and nice. There was soap and towels, but no shampoo/conditioner/lotion as is available at some places.||There is a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and hair dryer. The refrigerator was basically a freezer and froze everything. ||The ceilings are popcorn, and there is not any sound-proofing that I could tell. You can hear car alarms, people talking, and even birds trilling. ||There is a lovely swimming pool. [We didn't use it because it was raining, but it looked very nice and clean.]||They charge a refundable fee of 150.00 for debit cards and 250.00 for cash. They obviously have problem with patrons, as I thought this was extreme. They also made me sign a 2 page waiver: check out at 10:00am, no mining equipment in rooms, no pets, no smoking. The weirdest thing was the woman telling me that sometimes folks have "problems with bodily fluids," and if that happens, we need to let them know so they can handle the situation as a bio-hazard. This was a little freaky, and I'm a bit perturbed about what exactly is happening at the motel. ||The beds are metal platform beds with a metal support leg in the middle of the outside rails. Good grief! What a poor design! I think I broke my toe by kicking it every time I got in and out of bed. Glad I didn't start bleeding or there would have been...
