This will be the second time I've edited this review. The first edit was to acknowledge the IMPROVEMENT in the quality of the menu. Unfortunately this edit is about the DECLINE in SERVICE. We last TRIED to eat at the Feed Bin three weeks ago. We arrived at 8:15 on a Saturday and even though their posted closing time is 9pm, we were turned away because they had inexplicable decided to close their kitchen early...on a Saturday night. We made a second attempt tonight and arrived EARLIER—about 7:30pm—just in case the kitchen decided to close early again. We waited in line about 30 minutes without even being acknowledged by any of the staff. Instead of the usual single host(ess) in charge of seating patrons, it was a catch-as-catch-can tag team of wait staff flitting by, oblivious to the long line of would-be customers. I sincerely WANT this restaurant to succeed, but for the prices that they charge, first class service should be expected.

We had two of the best hamburgers that I can recall eating in years. Oh, And, the Onion Rings! Man! The best! I had the Laurie's Smokehouse burger that comes with bacon, lettuce, cheddar cheese, fried onion ring, and BBQ sauce. It was unbelievably good. My wife had the Greg's Classic, which came with lettuce, tomatoe, and a fried egg. We both upgraded our order from frence fries as a side to Onion Rings. I don't know about their fries, but the onion rings were delicious with a hint of a southwestern favor in the batter. Suggestion: Order your own onion rings. Even though there is a genourous serving of onion rings, you are not going to want to share them. Service was great. Our order was taken quickly and served up hot a few minutes later. On our way out, the owner of the establishment asked us how everything was. Very nice lady, and we enjoyed a short chat with her. All in all, a very pleasant afternoon meal

Fantastic food! If you are in Murfreesboro, this is a must! We came in for a weekend trip from Texarkana. Best place in town. You may have to wait, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and onion rings. Fried perfectly for both! My husband got the shrimp Étouffée, fried okra, and Mac and cheese. The okra was the best I’ve ever had & he agreed. His meal was awesome! We ended with the strawberry cake & wow! I don’t know why no one was talking about that, it is incredible! It tastes like a mix of strawberry shortcake and cheesecake. We got to meet Laurie (the owner) & she was literally the sweetest person. We will be making trips back for sure! Soon!!

How do you leave zero stars for service on here?

My gf and I are on vacation and had our Saturday night planned to grab some takeout and watch a basketball game on TV. She decided to try Feed Bin since we heard about them from another family, that was also on vacation at the the Crater, because they found it weird that this place serves alcohol in a "dry county" in Arkansas (must be nice to be a restaurant owner and have a friendly relationship with the County Commissioners).

After arriving, she placed our order and sat at the bar while the food was being prepared because the server said it would take about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes passed, she asked the server if the meal was close to being done since she would be late to get to the BnB in time to watch the game with our family if it took much longer. The server asked, "Is your order [some list of items]," but , unsurprisingly, that was someone else's order, so the server said that she would check on it and went to the back/kitchen area to do so.

Then, ANOTHER 20 minutes passed and my gf asked about the meal and when it was going to be done. She was then told by the server that there was a problem with this restaurant's "system" and that the order was never actually sent to the kitchen, but they would do us the favor of putting a rush on it - after 40 minutes of hanging out in that S-hole - all while the "system" seemed to work fine for other food being served.

Zoom ahead to when she makes it back to join us for the game with 9 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, after being a hostage to the Feed Bin's "system" that seems to have failed in the most fundamental part of serving in a restaurant, taking food orders.

Was the meal discounted or comped? No. The server said that she could not do this because the owner was not there, but the server could give her a "free" beer (quotations are due to the fact it was an expensive evening from a vacation TIME perspective).

In summary...

If you would like to spend over an hour getting jerked around for some [I'll be nice and call it "crispy"] chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, the Feed Bin Cafe is your place. If you like to have a time-sensitive part of your vacation ruined, instead of being served on time, the Feed Bin Cafe is where you need to go. And, if you like to be inconvenienced in this way while they remedy the situation by giving you more alcohol (so you can drive afterwards, in a dry county) instead of knocking a few bucks off of the bill a bit... then the Feed Bin Cafe is perfect for you!

People make mistakes and that is fine. Failure to acknowledge and own up to mistakes is not fine,...

When we first arrived everything was great. The coffee is really good, but when we ordered, we both ordered burgers. One of the burgers that we ordered was Greg’s classic burger and pickles were not listed as an item on the burger. We also added cheese to the classic burger and asked for no tomato or mayo. We got our food in a timely manner, but the classic burger had pickles. My girlfriend cannot consume pickles due to an allergy. We told one of the staff members and she took it to the back and was going to bring a new burger. The new burger came with tomato and a bunch of mayo but no pickles. We told our waitress, who just told us to hold on and never returned. I was not eating my food because I wanted to wait for my girlfriend. Then, a young woman in a red shirt rudely brought a to go box and the check when the second burger with the mayo and tomato was still there. We did not ask for these things, it felt like they wanted us to just leave. We told them that the burger was wrong again, then they brought a third burger still wrong due to no cheese and still tried to charge us for cheese. But they removed the charge. The staff could have handled this situation with more professionalism and better customer service. We do not plan on returning due to the lack of customer service and the long drawn out process that could have been avoided. Please add that you put pickles on the...

Great little place right in the Murfreesboro square. It’s within easy walking distance of all the hotels and shops in the square. This was really a great experience. We were here with friends and everyone was very pleased. You must try the Boo-Jack Rolls. They are scrumptious. It’s our favorite Cajun Sausage, Boudin, mixed with pepper jack cheese, rolled in wonton wrappers and deep fried. They were crazy good with the home made remoulade. Actually everything I ate was crazy good with that sauce. We had shrimp po’ boys, blackened chicken and chicken fried chicken. All was excellent. They have fried cabbage on the menu too, that was super. But the best thing was the Sticky Toffee Pudding! I ordered it TOGO and when the others at the table smelled it, they ordered some, too! Our wonderful server was Grace and she was super. Recommended the Boo-Jack and the Sticky Pudding. Thanks Grace! The shop owner came by to chat and really made us feel welcome. Sorry I did not get her name. Pricing was very good. Cannot say enough great things about...
