How do you leave zero stars for service on here?
My gf and I are on vacation and had our Saturday night planned to grab some takeout and watch a basketball game on TV. She decided to try Feed Bin since we heard about them from another family, that was also on vacation at the the Crater, because they found it weird that this place serves alcohol in a "dry county" in Arkansas (must be nice to be a restaurant owner and have a friendly relationship with the County Commissioners).
After arriving, she placed our order and sat at the bar while the food was being prepared because the server said it would take about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes passed, she asked the server if the meal was close to being done since she would be late to get to the BnB in time to watch the game with our family if it took much longer. The server asked, "Is your order [some list of items]," but , unsurprisingly, that was someone else's order, so the server said that she would check on it and went to the back/kitchen area to do so.
Then, ANOTHER 20 minutes passed and my gf asked about the meal and when it was going to be done. She was then told by the server that there was a problem with this restaurant's "system" and that the order was never actually sent to the kitchen, but they would do us the favor of putting a rush on it - after 40 minutes of hanging out in that S-hole - all while the "system" seemed to work fine for other food being served.
Zoom ahead to when she makes it back to join us for the game with 9 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, after being a hostage to the Feed Bin's "system" that seems to have failed in the most fundamental part of serving in a restaurant, taking food orders.
Was the meal discounted or comped? No. The server said that she could not do this because the owner was not there, but the server could give her a "free" beer (quotations are due to the fact it was an expensive evening from a vacation TIME perspective).
In summary...
If you would like to spend over an hour getting jerked around for some [I'll be nice and call it "crispy"] chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, the Feed Bin Cafe is your place. If you like to have a time-sensitive part of your vacation ruined, instead of being served on time, the Feed Bin Cafe is where you need to go. And, if you like to be inconvenienced in this way while they remedy the situation by giving you more alcohol (so you can drive afterwards, in a dry county) instead of knocking a few bucks off of the bill a bit... then the Feed Bin Cafe is perfect for you!
People make mistakes and that is fine. Failure to acknowledge and own up to mistakes is not fine,...
Read moreWhen we first arrived everything was great. The coffee is really good, but when we ordered, we both ordered burgers. One of the burgers that we ordered was Greg’s classic burger and pickles were not listed as an item on the burger. We also added cheese to the classic burger and asked for no tomato or mayo. We got our food in a timely manner, but the classic burger had pickles. My girlfriend cannot consume pickles due to an allergy. We told one of the staff members and she took it to the back and was going to bring a new burger. The new burger came with tomato and a bunch of mayo but no pickles. We told our waitress, who just told us to hold on and never returned. I was not eating my food because I wanted to wait for my girlfriend. Then, a young woman in a red shirt rudely brought a to go box and the check when the second burger with the mayo and tomato was still there. We did not ask for these things, it felt like they wanted us to just leave. We told them that the burger was wrong again, then they brought a third burger still wrong due to no cheese and still tried to charge us for cheese. But they removed the charge. The staff could have handled this situation with more professionalism and better customer service. We do not plan on returning due to the lack of customer service and the long drawn out process that could have been avoided. Please add that you put pickles on the...
Read moreGreat little place right in the Murfreesboro square. It’s within easy walking distance of all the hotels and shops in the square. This was really a great experience. We were here with friends and everyone was very pleased. You must try the Boo-Jack Rolls. They are scrumptious. It’s our favorite Cajun Sausage, Boudin, mixed with pepper jack cheese, rolled in wonton wrappers and deep fried. They were crazy good with the home made remoulade. Actually everything I ate was crazy good with that sauce. We had shrimp po’ boys, blackened chicken and chicken fried chicken. All was excellent. They have fried cabbage on the menu too, that was super. But the best thing was the Sticky Toffee Pudding! I ordered it TOGO and when the others at the table smelled it, they ordered some, too! Our wonderful server was Grace and she was super. Recommended the Boo-Jack and the Sticky Pudding. Thanks Grace! The shop owner came by to chat and really made us feel welcome. Sorry I did not get her name. Pricing was very good. Cannot say enough great things about...
