Timbers Nature Preserve — Attraction in Murphy

Great park for kids and families. There's a well-maintained trail perfect for walking, jogging, or biking. The soccer and baseball fields have good grass and are in decent condition, making them ideal for sports and recreation. The kids' play area is decent, with various play structures that keep children entertained and active.

There is OK street parking available right next.to the park.

This place is a sweet little spot is located near a biking trail in Murphy, TX. We decided to take a little break from the afternoon heat and cool down near the pond....which is filled with Bass...by the way. A fish jumped out of the water and made a big splash....and several folks were out fishing. As you get closer to the pond, the trail turns from cement to gravel. We were on bikes and decided to hop off and walk up to a nice sitting area. There's also an nice/clean pavilion with picnic tables. I could waste and afternoon here with no problem. It's a real nice little nature spot in the middle of a suburb. There are newer playgrounds for little and big kids. It's a good place to walk and ride bikes. The concrete paths have great spots where the kids can get ahead, loop around, and you don't lose sight of them.
