We had tickets to the Singing Christmas tree yesterday and we were so looking forward to it. With the growing number of Covid cases in our area, I was delighted to receive an email saying the Frauenthal asked everyone to bring a mask for the performance. We were contemplating not going before that email arrived. So - off we went feeling good about our decision. When we arrived, it appeared most people were masked as they walked in by the ushers and they were handing out masks if you needed a mask. When we arrived at our seats and were seated, (in the lower level with the balcony overhang above us) we looked around and realized that we were in the middle of two rows of totally unmasked people! We were packed in very tightly and looking around there were many people all over unmasked. I guess it was naive of me to think all people would adhere to a Public Health Advisory. I was soooooo irritated that I went to the lobby and found an usher that directed me to the manager. I asked her if there were any seats upstairs left that we could sit in. She was appalled that our surrounding people were unmasked and was very eager to re-seat us. Had that not happened, we were prepared to go home. This is not political - it is a medical fact that our hospitals are over-stressed with no beds, not enough nurses to care for people, having to delay surgeries that are needed, etc. Even if the unmasked are vaccinated, in order to enjoy community events like the concert last night, we need to mask up to prevent mass infection. I will not be so naive again - my community events are done for this year. Thankfully, we did get to see the Shores choir and orchestra - it was fabulous. I feel that you should enforce your mask request to keep your community safe from a huge outbreak. DeVos even asked for proof of vaccination for Michael...
Read moreEnjoyed a comedy show here with my spouse. The venue is beautiful! They had an employee opening doors as we walked into the building, had sanitizer and masks if desired, then had staff ready to scan tickets and wand everyone down. Everything went very quickly and we did not have to wait for anything during the process which in such bad weather was amazing. They had many staff members at each door helping guests find their assigned seats and they were all much older but very nice. We sat on the bottom, center section, row R, seat 13 and 14 which were the end two seats. If you are tall I suggest doing this for more leg room but also if you have to use the bathroom often as you do not have much room to walk in front of people so it is easier to walk into the Isle to let them out. Although they do have a mini bar station set up they also have a bar in the main lobby and one downstairs which has a lovely waterfall wall, seating areas, tables, etc you can enjoy prior to your show. They did not sell snacks besides candy bars so I would suggest eating prior or bringing something with you. Lastly the chairs we were in although manageable for the event they are pretty narrow so may not be really comfortable for everyone but...
Read moreBeautiful theater with kind staff! We appreciate the free kid's movies! A worker responded quickly to clean up a child’s throw-up, though they accidentally missed the correct spot. A volunteer dismissed my polite mention of it entirely, but overall, it was likely an oversight in communication, and at least the clean-up attempt was quick! It would have been sanitary, too, if it hadn't taken place in the dark. The worker was patient with the process and didn't seem troubled one bit, at least. If I didn't read between the lines, I might have assumed the volunteer, and therefore, theater didn't care about health and safety at all based on the volunteers reaction. We were pleased with everything in general and had a really great time! Thanks,...
