Hackley Park is a lovely historic park located in the heart of downtown Muskegon. The park has many beautiful historic buildings across from it and nearby restaurants. It seems like there is always something happening at the park, on the weekends, in the summertime.
Three major summer events are Parties in the Park on most Friday evenings, the Lakeshore Art Festival, and Taste of Muskegon. Parties in the Park is a great night of live music, food trucks, craft and domestic beer, wine, and cocktails, and a kids craft area. The Lakeshore Art Festival encompasses most of the downtown area with fine art and jewelry, and musical entertainment at Hackley Park. Taste of Muskegon is an annual event jam-packed with local area food trucks and musical entertainment.

Read moreI went down to Hackley Park for the Taste of Muskegon event. It was a beautiful day, and I got there just as they were starting the event. The check-in people were fast and efficient checking ID's, the ticket sales people were quick too. I went to the Pigeon Hill tent to buy my first beer of the day, Shandy Jackson, and wandered around the park, bumping into friends and enjoying the free concert. There were many food trucks and booths from local restaurants to choose from. A well run event that was a lot of fun.
