We spent a month in Myrtle Beach and this dog park was a highlight of our stay. We've been to many dog parks across the country and Barc Parc South sets the bar all others will be compared to.
There are 3 parks, big dogs, small dogs and both. The small dog park has a line dogs must be shorter than to enter. This method provides a clear guideline for my 30ish pound dog, (not a small dog by this measure) without excluding the rotund dachshund.
The park for large and small dogs includes a huge pond (with ducks!) It makes for a great walk around the entire thing. There is seating in each and ample trash receptacles.
The best thing about these parks are the wonderful people who frequent it. People who are understanding, friendly and willing to put forth some effort to keep this place pleasant for everyone. I witnessed people picking up after the occasional person who wasn't picking up after their dog, sharing training tips and giving a heads up if a dog was having an issue (aggressive, resource guarding.)

By far the best dog park in the Myrtle Beach Area.
Regular maintenance is done every week. The grounds are impeccably kept. Bags and cans are conveniently located for picking up your dog's waste.
The storm water pond which is separate from the other areas is untreated which is concerning for many pet owners, however, we have not experienced any problems, and my GSD adores the amenity! Signs are posted clearly throughout the dog park - Dogs Swim at own Risk.
There are three separate and expansive gated areas.
BARK PARK SOUTH - SMALL DOG BARK PARK SOUTH - LARGE DOG BARK PARK SOUTH - STORM WATER/ POND AREA
HOURS: Open from DAWN TO DUSK
CLOSED MONDAYS 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE.
HELPFUL TIP:
DO NOT CROWD THE ENTRANCE. ALLOW OTHERS TO ENTER AND EXIT WITH THEIR ANIMAL ONE AT A TIME. THE SMALL ENTRY GATE AREA IS USED TO UNLEASH AND LEASH YOUR CANINE AND THIS SHOULD REMAIN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT FOR THE SAFETY OF YOU...
Read moreUpdate: I've seen the machine they have to crush the gumballs and roots. They use it around the dog park but not IN the dog parks. Dogs feet are getting injured. I just don't understand why they use the machine in the park. It is so painful on your feet walking on those things.
It used to be a very nice dog park but now it's minimally maintained by the city. It is NOT disability friendly at all. Please be advised due to the large rocks, the pine cones, the extensive tree roots many people and dogs injure their paws and ankles. This is primarily the large dog park and the Lake Dog Park. For unknown reasons, the small dog park is pristine. Also the water quality is very very poor.
Update: 8/3/25: The path around the pond is still littered with cones and sticks. It's very hard to walk. The pond is now 1/2 the size it used to be even though they can pump...
