Have had 3 other awful experiences shared by family and friends to me(4 including myself). My mother joined hgtc in order to earn a business degree. The entire time she attended her grades were basically failing, the instructors basically refused to help her bring them up, and she was offered barely any resources. She basically committed academic suicide and will not be able to return to any school. I figured for me it would be different but in fact my grades have never been lower as I am not offered barely any resources, I am consistently begging to get my financial aid, and now have been lied to. I was told taking a summer class in something I find easy would help my GPA and she also said I had a loan to cover my summer. SUPRISE SUPRISE NOT!!! They have currently charged my account for $1300+ dollars and will not answer the phone for some reason! I just need some explanation as to what this is for and where’s my loan!! On top of that I had a friend attend here before transferring. His reasoning being that his financial aid wasn’t being provided at all. CRAZYYY!! On top of that, my boyfriend tried to attend without FASFA meaning he needed to take part in the LIFE scholarship and loans. He repeatedly asked for the scholarship information after being told he was eligible just to never receive it. THIS SCHOOL WILL RUIN YOU AND ANY IDEA OF A GOOD TIME YOU THINK YOULL HAVE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, WILL LIE TO YOU, AND WILL TRY TO...
Read moreMy son attended this school through a program with his high school. The classes were online. The professors were terrible with communication, they never answered emails or texts. One professor literally dropped my son from the class at the end of the semester because of some attendance meeting he supposedly missed in the beginning of the semester. However, the attendance was just a text, and my son has the text on his phone, so he did attend this “meeting.” He completed all of the assignments and was still attending the class, and all of a sudden the high school contacted us about 2 weeks before graduation and said my son dropped the college class (HGTC did not even notify the high school) and he would have to retake the same class on the high school level. He graduated from high school but is unable to attend this college until he pays $2,000 for the semester he was dropped from. If this is how the professors are going to treat students, I wouldn’t invest my money...
Read moreI have attended a few institutions of higher education and currently hold a Masters degree. All the places I have attended the professors trained, prepared, guided, equipped, and even protected the students within their program. Not so in HGTC NURSING program. The instructors strongly give the impression that they are there just to collect a paycheck. I don't mind taking on a challenging course, but I do have a problem when instructors refuse to instruct. It appears HGTC nursing instructors couldn't hack the real world and now is taking out on students who are not able to respond, or else find themselves committing academic suicide. It simply comes down to insecurities and academic bullying. There are better nursing programs in the area with a mature faculty, a program that is willing to guide and prep you...
