----------------------UPDATE---------------------------- Nahant Beach & Playground gets 4 stars from me, its always clean, in the summer is supervised, in the winter still is patrolled constantly. However, the dog waste metal container's are always empty, or some r filled with shopping bags instead of the biodegradable poopie 💩 bags. Idk what's goin on, maybe ppl are stealing them, which is ignorant, disgusting, & unfair to the dog parents that 4get their poppie bags after a long day, we tend to do that "at times", not often, but "at times." Therefore it is unfair, that usually we could grab a bag, but now face the fear of a fine. It's not like it used 2be, that's 4-sure! Now the city is cuttin back, & would rather ppl leave dog poop than supply bags 4the posts they supplied. Not many places this side of Lynn 2bring ur dog. They've closed down parks, & always want them leashed, what else are they going 2 discriminate dogs about? Acting like it's saving money 4the city, but paying workers 2clean up and having visitors not seeing poop is alot more cheaper, I think.... $5 for a well maintained beach? Yes. They now even accept credit cards at entry. Multiple Bathrooms and showers. Lots of parking in brand new as of 2015 lot.

Pro tip, get there early but if you don't walk as far right towards Dunkin Donuts as you can if you want less crowd.

Very international beach unlike some of the elitist north shore beaches. This beach is only $5 and has services so you will get an eclectic mix of people from Lynn and the neighboring towns.

The water stays shallow for a really long time so it's very safe for small children.

The East end of Nahant Beach is clean water, that is where you see the most people. The West end next to city of Lynn is dirty water!

The West most half mile of beach is fowled with smelly algae, brown water and ocean weed. But people still swim in it, mostly kids who don't know it is a short walk to clean water.

The algae water I dont think is harmful but You continue to smell it on your skin till you soap it off.

Locals say it is the natural currents and it has always been this way as long as anyone remembers.
