Ivory Pot Bakery — Restaurant in Lynn

Hello everyone, My daughters 2nd birthday party was on Saturday April 23, 2022. & I live down the st from this bakery so I thought it would be a great idea to order a cake from them since it was in such an amazing location. First, I went in and asked for a Moana cake and I told them I wanted a 10 inch cake with 4 layers which was fine but then I got three phone calls stating a 12inch cake with 3 layers would be better for the amount of people we were having at the birthday party so I agree, as well as getting it marble with Carmel filling. So, I had to put down a deposit which was fine $54. Then, when I picked up the cake I payed the rest which was $109. The decoration was not exactly what I asked for but it was beautiful, but the cake was extremely dry and nobody at the birthday party enjoyed it. I was very disappointed. So , I called the bakery to discuss the issue I had and they told me everyone else was happy with their order because they make multiple cake with the same Batch. But I explained that, we would bring a piece of the cake in so they could see it. They told us that how they make their cakes and there was nothing wrong with it. So, I felt like I need to Express my feeling about how they went about the situation due to the fact I was a new customer. To find I was not asked the proper questions to design or what type of cake I wanted. But, I know from now, I will not order another cake from them and I hope nobody else goes through what I did. I really wanted to give this more stars but 2 is all we could honestly give. This was our purchase: An eclair: 2 people split it- no flavor, hardly any filling. A pistachio eclair: 1 person ate it. No flavor, couldn’t taste pistachios. Filled okay. Was moist, just NOT flavorful. “ a waste of calories “ Petite size Strawberry shortcake round: 1 person ate it. Bland, some of the strawberries were bitter. Petite size Oreo and chocolate cake round: 2 people ate it. Same consensus- no flavor, Oreo filling had too thick a consistency, not creamy. Bottom layer of Cake was moist , hint of an unknown flavor that wasn’t chocolate. No one wanted to finish it. Total Spent $23.00 plus tip. The girl behind the counter was really nice. General consensus of 4 people,( 2 men, 2 women): 0 would go back any time soon. It was such a disappointment because there is such need for a great bakery in this area. I asked for a toasted butter roll with coffee. The young lady who took care of my order was super friendly and sweet. I was super disappointed due to the baker coming to tell me she didn’t have bread which by the way she had three loaves right next to her but she said couldn’t make me just plain bread with butter. She proceeded to ask if I wanted slice bread 🤯 so I decided I just wanted coffee. I get my coffee only to find I got more cream than coffee so I asked for more coffee and she said she ran out after I paid so I had to throw my coffee away. The pastries didn’t look fresh which is why I decided to get bread and coffee instead. What a disappointment never coming...
