The oldest park in Nampa covers 44 acres on what used to be a homestead dating back to 1888. This is the origin of the name, which refers to a man-made reservoir that used to be on the property. The lake is long gone, but the name remains, along with the creek that fed it. As well as beautiful mature trees, a rose garden and ample, lush lawns, there’s a ton of facilities at Lakeview Park. To name a few, you’ve got areas for baseball/softball, soccer, basketball, as well as a pool, bike trail, horseshoe pits, picnic shelters, a duck pond, volleyball court and amphitheater. The pool, which has beach entry, is suited to smaller swimmers and complemented by lots of splash pad water features.

It is so much fun for the young ones and is super affordable. You can even bring in outside food for a nice pic nice. I strongly suggest you register ahead of time online for a time slot šŸ˜‰ or you can also pay at the door, but the line can get big. Only so many people are allowed to swim per slot. I really liked that it was not overcrowded, and it had plenty of shade with seating. This place is worth the $2 a person for the summer ā˜€ļø enjoy it while we can.

Clean pool, nice helpful staff. Bring your own chairs, snacks, and drinks. Book online to reserve a place during the 3 daily open swim times. It's fairly priced but can get pretty crowded. There is a fun slide with water pushing you down, showering mushrooms, a water sprayer, and other forms of water flowing down or jetting up to get soaked. Great for little kids as the pool is shallow and has the beach effect (gradual slope) on one end to get in.

I love going here because its perfect for kids. Easy to watch the older kids play and can sit in the shallow end with the babies. It's a cheap fun activity we do on a weekly basis all summer. It's even better now that they limited the amount of people they let in because of Covid. However, there's only 2 spots with shade and so if you're not the first in the door you set up with your towel on cement in the sun. They should expand the fence to include some of the grass for sitting and add more tables. They also are really inconsistent on rules. Last week we came in and set up our spot and when our friend got there my husband went back out to help her carry in the car seat just fine. This week I needed to go back out to get my kids pacifier out of the car and I was told they wouldn't let me back in. I couldn't believe it. Even big water parks like roaring springs will let you go out and come back in with a little mark on your hand, I couldn't believe they wouldn't let me run the 5 yards to my car and back. I also had an error in making my reservation and accidentally was scheduled for 2 sessions. I tried calling every 40 mins starting an hour before they opened to get it fixed and left 2 voicemails. Never got answer and never called back. When I got there for my session and tried to get refunded they said they wouldn't refund me and I should've called and left a VM before my reservation. When I told them I did they just said sorry and still...

Always another fun family hangout. Go swimming cool off, go eat at the park , play, then go back to swim to cool off again. Be careful the cement locker rooms get slippery with all the water dripping off people as they come from the pool, it is a popular place so bring own towel to sit on. Im not sure if you can bring own chairs in or not, be good to call to ask, if needing a chair to sit down on. If not blanket , towels have always been enough for my kids and me. Like it when at the end of swim season and closed to the people, theyve opened it up for dogs to splash around, thats super cool for the dogs, they obviously have the happiest times splashing around cooling off, like the rest of us. This park has alot of events and activities on and off thats fun too. Bring water and sunblock, maybe a hat, cuz it can get pretty hot weather anytime...

The kids had a great time, but the seating for adults isn’t super comfortable. There are a limited number of first-come, first-serve plastic chairs and lounges.

I hadn’t been to this pool before, and we rented a ā€˜cabana.’ It turned out to be a rickety old picnic table under a pop-up tent in the corner of the enclosure.

Another caveat is that the swimming periods are 2 hours only, then they cleared us all out.

All that being said, the prices aren’t at all bad for what it is, and I was glad on that particular day to have a firm end time for the excursion. The pool and the water features are really nice, and my kids loved it. The pool is not very deep, so it doesn’t have any particular attraction for parents to swim - it’s like a significantly upgraded splash pad. If I can find a way to be more comfortable while they swim, I’ll be happy to...
