Ooof what a gem! A great classic Mexican eatery! I can't believe I've spent all this time driving past this place but never stopping by. My husband and I were out and about in Nampa and our stomachs started growling, and as we drove by this restaurant as we have done so many times we decided to make a U-turn and stop in for some grub.
The inside is small, like really small. I don't think it could fit more than 20 patrons comfortably. As we ate our meal it seemed like a lot of regulars ordered take out.
I began my meal with a delicious margarita that was beautifully presented in a light blue glass with a perfect salt rim. It was delicious, more sweet than I'd like but still good. If you prefer your drinks strong I suggest you make that clear. My husband enjoyed a classic Modelo.
For food I bellied up to one of Aguililla's many combination meals - #3. Shredded Beef Enchilada and Chile Relleno (served with rice and beans, $9.75). Every bite was delicious! Served piping HOT, the chile relleno was fantastic and the shredded beef in the enchilada was perfectly seasoned. I wish I could have eaten slower to savor every bite but it was so damn good! One of those meals that keeps your tummy rumbling at just the thought of it. If you're a fan of this dish, you gotta try it at Aguililla's.
My husband picked the Chile Verde Burrito ($9.50) with shredded beef and a side of rice and beans. I think I enjoyed his dish more! There was a generous amount of tasteful, tender beef and the verde sauce...

I've been there 6 times and I still dont know if I'm supposed to seat myself or wait to be seated. They dont give you chips n salsa for to go orders. The place isn't exactly clean. The last time I was there, I got food to go. They forgot to give me one of my burritos. They also apparently didnt charge me for sour cream. I had to drive back to get my missing burrito. They then informed me that I needed to pay for the sour cream because "the other girl took the order and she didnt do it right". I thought it was insane that they'd put the onus on me for their mess up and I had to come back to get my burrito. I told her I wanted to talk to a manager about the charge. The lady told me she already talked to him and said "you know you need to pay for it but I cant stop you if you dont". She then went on to serve other customers. I waited because I wanted to speak to a manager. When she finally came back I told her I wanted to speak to the manager since I didnt want to feel like I'm stealing, as I wasn't. She told me the manager wasn't there (I guess that means she called him?) and that I can just take the burrito and leave. I really liked their salsa, but they ruined it for me. I won't be going back. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. If you want to go there, just dont take out. That way you dont have to drive back when they mess up your order. Just expect...
Read moreIf it had a 0 star that's what they would get. Me and my husband were quite hungry, he suggested this place because it's just down the road from us and he heard it was good food. Well they told me 5 to 7 minutes, I got there and it cost me 33.00 which would have been ok if the food were good but I got it home and it's about 2 minutes from my house so it should have still been warm at least, it was all cold. The tortilla shells were so rubbery I couldn't bite into them. The beans and rice had no flavor, the humongous burrito my husband ordered was cold, dry, and altogether nasty tasting. The only good thing about the fajita was the shrimp, the meat was stringy, my dog wouldn't even eat it. Sorry, I normally don't say anything derogatory about anybody but 33.00 later and still hungry I had to speak out. The staff was friendly, that much I can say just don't go there...
