Shelby Dog Park — Attraction in Nashville-Davidson

Dog park was great but when we got there, 2 dogs were fighting. The one guy left, apologising for his dog but as we quickly learned, it was the other dog that was the instigator. After several more "occurances", the owner finally took accountability and left. I just feel bad for the dog and owner that left. It should have been the other dog and his owner. If your dog starts a fight, leave the dog park immediately. Everyone else is there to enjoy themselves...

The fence, gate, and benches are in good shape, and there are plenty of dog waste bags available. The problems are that the grass is in pretty bad shape (pretty much just dirt in most of the park) and there is a lot of dog waste throughout the park. The benches are arranged in a circle facing in, which leads to people sitting and chatting. Good for community, but not conducive to people paying attention to when their dogs are...

I've been to this park several times at all hours of the day and night. I've actually fell asleep over night there in my car. For the most part I have felt safe enough to sleep with windows slightly open. Anyone new to the nashville city should stop by shelby park if only for a second. There is a pond, ducks, plenty of running space and plenty of tress for shade...
