Enjoyed the show I came to watch BUT pretty off-put by the venue in multiple ways.
Arrive when doors open, go up and order a drink and a water. They only sell water bottles. Okay I get it. Venues get busy and people aren’t tipping for water. Ask for a cup of ice, and told they must “ask a manager” because they “don’t give away anything here.” Okay kinda strange. (We eventually got the ice)
Go checkout the rooftop and the view is gorgeous! Unfortunately there’s 15-20 empty drinks sitting around and looked pretty unkept. It was unstaffed so I only spent a few minutes enjoying the view before going back.
The small upstairs bar had a very small line so I start to wait for another water. (This is still before the show starts) 10 minutes later, I’m at the front of the line. Sadly, the person in front of me had just ordered the final cold waters. Since I’ve committed so much time away from my friends, I stick with room temp water, and get ice!
Sadly, the upstairs bar can only add things to my tab, and not close it out. The bartender could not figure it out. With showtime approaching, I’m now faced with waiting in another gigantic line downstairs being managed by 2 bartenders JUST TO CLOSE OUT.
15 minutes later and missing the start of the show, I’m next in line. I go up to take my spot at the bar and have a borderline altercation with a patron who didn’t realize I had been standing in the same exact line as them and accused me of cutting. (I stood behind the guy the entire time)
Because of the loud music I’m essentially having to scream at the bartender to close my tab, who is offended I’m raising my voice. I’ve now missed the first couple songs and totally detached from my group.
Technical glitches happen and can sometimes be unavoidable. It felt like they had enough staff, but clearly some bottlenecks (no pun intended) like the number of bartenders. Despite all this, the show as great. I would probably give this place a second chance but just a bunch of really off-putting experiences back to back that took away ultimately...
Read moreWe did get a little lost looking for the entrance upon arrival. There is a large sign out by some stairs but once you're up on the patio, there aren't any additional signs to turn to the correct doors. We passed the doors twice before an employee had called out to us asking if we were there for the show. The way that the doors and windows were blocked out made it seem like it was a back entrance, so we had circled the building on foot once.
The atmosphere WAS nice, but the servers were kinda rude, though. Two employees were essentially hiding under the bar, to which another employee had to call them out, and the server that did end up serving us gave off mean girl vibes to almost everyone that was in line. The audacity of me also ordering a non-craft beer was evident too.
This is also the first venue in Nashville that I've been to that doesn't provide free water, which was rather surprising since every other smaller venue I've gone to for shows would usually have several water stations prepped for concert-goers. Sure the coolers might not fit "the vibe" but that small gesture shows that they care about their customers rather than...
Read moreVery cool experience here. You can watch live music and vinyl records being pressed at the same time! There’s always different types of music and events happening so I definitely recommend checking out the calendar on the website ahead of time, you’ll find everything from acoustic writers rounds and punk shows to full on EDM ragers. The new food menu is seriously delicious and offers gluten-free options, and Gabi is one of the best bartenders in Nashville. The vibe is slightly industrial and very rock and roll, the second level floor is made of actual vinyl records! The space is huge and offers both a lower covered patio and a rooftop area with stellar views of the Nashville skyline. There is free parking and free pool as well! TVL is definitely one of my favorite spots off the...
