Modern Shade and Decor — Attraction in Needham

It is quite surprising that Rich and Modern Shade and Decor doesn't have more reviews. We recently moved into our new home and wanted to take a look at a few options for blinds for our 20+ windows in a variety of shapes and sizes. We received several estimates from well-rated companies across Angie's List and Yelp/Google. In the end, the combination of pricing, product and personal service via Rich was hard to beat. He offers Hunter Douglas and other products that all have a variety of pros and cons, but all have a solid warranty across the board for several years of peace of mind.

After the installation and partly thanks to a couple of our irregular windows, a couple of the valances didn't quite fully cover the metal portion on top - Rich himself pointed out this inconsistency and proceeded to take care of replacing those quickly after escalating the issue to the manufacturer.

From my several talks with him, I have learned that Rich got started initially thanks to his family-run local business. He has a great approach to expanding the business in the Boston and surrounding metro areas and especially leveraging word of mouth and old-fashioned flyers for new home owners. We needed to have a "double" window shade replaced in our master bedroom. After doing a bit of research online and calling a few places, I found out about Modern Shade. I reached out to Rich who came over a couple of days later. We reviewed a couple of options, and he gave me an estimate for the work and a timeline on when the order would be in.
