Fun little hike! Wasn’t to bad if you have littles too!! Didn’t even know this was located in New Albany Indiana or the history behind it before we hiked it! Definitely an easy fun trip to get kiddos out of house and burning energy!

Everything about this historic trail is done right! It is well maintained and well marked. The historic markers, information, and photos along the way will completely enhance the trek for any local history or infrastructure geek. The collection of several short trails is essentially a series of sections combined to make a complete one-mile loop. The various sections are what remains of old trolley lines and carriage roads Perfect for an afternoon hike. With the historic vibes, this trail is highly recommended. Two cautions: The trail leads down abs back up a semi-steep ravine—ray for most. Only room for about five cars at the trailhead.

Silver Hills is absolutely beautiful! The trail is fairly short, but packed with great sights and plenty of history. The trails are well kept. For it being in the middle of a fairly busy city, it’s really quiet and peaceful. I had the pleasure of meeting the gentleman that upkeeps the trails. Kelly is very nice, respectful, and takes pride in his ability to upkeep the trails as well as knowing that people come there and enjoy what he has been a part of creating. My pup enjoyed it as well. We look forward to visiting again.

A short trail next to downtown New Albany. Most gravel and dirt. Multiple signs explaining points of interest. Plenty of parking spots for at least 7 cars. Haven't seen more than 3 cars there at once. Not much elevation change, very easy hike. Some of the stone stairways are starting to deteriorate and could use a little love. When there has been heavy rainfall, you won't be able to do the loop. When you get down towards the creek, it'll be flooded and you'll need to turn back....
