To preface, the owner of this place is very kind and helpful, but holy cow this place is a mess. I 100% think this is a fire hazard that somebody could get in trouble for. There’s piles of garbage stacked on top of even more garbage. Many items are just completely inaccessible because of the mountains of garbage. Don’t get me wrong, there are DEFINITELY treasures hidden in here, including unique antiques, but they’re probably overpriced and hidden under the piles of garbage. I honestly feel itchy after being in here.
I don’t want to make assumptions, but I do believe this is a case of hoarding that has spiraled. If you look at old pictures of this place, there used to be plenty of room to walk around and everything was super cute and curated. Now, you have to shimmy through the aisles and hope not to knock everything over.
At the root of it, there is a very cool collection of stuff, but the owner needs to STOP getting more stuff and throw away/donate some of the mountains of stuff. I am honestly concerned about her wellbeing after being...
Read moreWhat a wonderful surprise my first visit was. Treasured antiques, furniture, artwork, decorative accessories and collectables everywhere! I love the emphasis on collectables and decorative items centered around Michigan and specifically Lake St. Clair/St.Clair River and the communities hugging their shores. This place is heaven for nautical/beach collectors. Also display areas with country/cottage/farm house items....lots and lots of goodies. Garden and yard unique decorative items too. Also an area of hard to find authentic Asian/Buddhist treasures and collectables. Plan on spending some extra time here as there is so much to see and enjoy. Owner Nancy is knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. She has a talent for helping customers put together the right decorative look with many suggestions and helpful advice. Nancy also offers a consignment service for selling items that you may no longer have a home for. Anymore, I am a regular customer and always seem to find something unique and interesting for my home,...
Read moreNothing in the store is priced and the owner makes up prices on the spot that are more expensive than eBay. There are also items on shelves that aren’t for sale, but aren’t marked that they aren’t for sale.
The store so cluttered that you can barely walk! Getting to the restroom is literally an obstacle course and you have to climb items to get to it. There are piles and piles of things everywhere and you can’t even see anything. I’m honestly surprised that the place hasn’t been shut down since it’s a fire hazard.
There’s no air conditioning and only one fan in a corner. The check out desk is so hoarded with junk that it’s nonexistent. They only accept cash because she can’t get to her computer or card machine.
Just an overall...
