SEE JUNE 2022 UPDATE - Beautiful park! Awesome playground for the kiddos (SADLY, GONE 2022)and if it wasn't too busy, I enjoyed climbing around myself. They swings are the best! Nicely kept beach and swim area with lifeguards. Many fun events throughout the year. Perfect park (PLAY STRUCTURE IS ONLY FOR TODDLERS)for a sensational little beach town on Anchor Bay!
June 2022 - The playground area was updated in the Spring...all shiny and new and incredibly disappointing! Toddlers might be able to enjoy themselves on the play structure but that's it...only toddlers! Thankfully the swings survived the demolition.
The beach area is still nice with a decent swim area. There are public docks (but no overnight), kayak rentals, rest areas, great boutiques, incredible wine tasting, many food choices - steaks, lobster, freshly caught fish, burgers, Italian, coffee, ice cream, the greatest bar food (perfectly prepared proteins, sensational healthy options, fresh fruits and vegetables, all the sandwich options, and of course...all the greasy, delicious, fried...
Read moreThe new structure is much smaller than the old one so it becomes crowded quickly. The shade on it is also laughable, cool to look at but doesn't actually provide shade on the structure. It's wonderful that it's accessible, but it's unfortunate there is less structure because there are so many kids that use it. There are new benches for the parents but none in the shade. Maybe new trees will be planted in the next few years to take the place of the structure and provide shade for the smaller footprint. My son was entertained for about 3/4 of the time he used to be at his first visit to the new playground. He does enjoy the new puzzle/music additions. I have noticed those break and aren't maintained by other parks but they are fun for now. Beach and boardwalk are very nice and enjoyable, we love the bakery and library across the street for more to do...
Read moreI visited for the weekend and in the short two days I spent in the area, this was the highlight. After a relatively lame first night, the second day was starting to look bad. I brought a half ounce of good kush for the occasion but the folks I stayed with were no good for fun. Their preference, as it appeared, was to stay inside and do nothing of note. This could not stand. After a near full 24 hours in the region I desperately needed to go home. That's when I found this park. I didn't realize how close I was to home. The water waited patiently for me as I made my way to it's edge. As poor a time as I may have had among the humans, they showed me kindness by returning me to the water. This day, I'd be letting those of my species know: the humans are...
