Bona Bros Body & Paint — Attraction in New Brighton

I have a 1986 Volvo 240 I love (you know the kind, boxy but good). It developed rust on the floorboards, to the point my mechanic said they would no longer work on it because it wasn't safe. I must have called and stopped by at least 15 body shops all over the Twin Cities before I found Bona Bros. Name a shop you've heard of, I went there and was told no. Body shops that work on rust are a dying breed! I get it-- rust is the cancer of the car. But we still treat cancer.

The folks at Bona primarily work on specialty vehicles, like ambulances, delivery trucks, etc., where it is worth the money to do body repairs rather than totaling the whole vehicle. Al said he would take a look and send me an estimate. When he did, he gently suggested I should consider finding a new car, instead. But he also quoted out the whole job and said they were happy to do it if I wanted. I'm emotionally invested in the car, so it was worth the price.

I brought my car in after a minor accident and while they were booking about a month out, it was absolutely worth the wait! Their customer service is amazing and extremely helpful. I called for an update on my car 5 days after dropping it off not expecting them to have it anywhere near it done, but to my surprise, they were just finishing up work and I was able to pick it up the next business day! They had my car done in 5 days (it was there 7 days totally due to the weekend)! I was completely shocked when they said it was done-that was really quick turn around. I was originally told about 1 1/2 weeks!

They did very quality work and they stand by it too-correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they said if anything is wrong with the work they did, they’ll fix it through the life of the vehicle, which is amazing!! The paint job they did is impeccable too! The car looks as good as new, I’m extremely impressed and SO happy with it!

I cannot recommended Bona bros enough. Like I said, they do have a longer wait time to get your car in, but if you’re able to deal with that, it’s absolutely...

My back doors weren’t shutting right on my van and wouldn’t lock. I had taken it to another business and they had said they were booked out for two weeks and gave me an estimate for 600 dollar. Now this is my vehicle I use for work so I need it as soon as possible. So I called Bona Bros, Bill said to bring it and he’ll take a look at it. Even then he said once they had the part they’ed pull a guy to have it done so it wouldn’t take more than more than a day once they had the part. Well I brought it in and Bill was there and looked at it, grabbed a hammer knocked the joint back in place which is all it needed. The part that the other shop said I needed wasn’t even the issue! Bill just said to bring it back in if it starts acting up again. Now I know that if it was a different shop they’d have probably taken into the shop and done the exact same thing Bill did and charged me for it.
