This place is fantastic! If you have not tried their food, you absolutely have to go. They look like your run-of-the-mill bar and grill, but their chef (Kyle) takes great pride in the food he prepares and is a phenomenally talented chef. He has an incredible background working in various kitchens around the Twin Cities and is proud to source as much local food as he can and make everything from scratch, except for the ketchup, because "you just don't mess with Heinz ketchup."
My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting our rehearsal dinner at The Exchange the evening before our wedding. We met with Chef Kyle to go over menu options, and Kyle put together recommendations. We were amazed at the options he provided and we put together a 3-course meal that was served family style. Our party of 18 was BLOWN AWAY by the food (see menu attached). We received so many compliments and people were astonished by the uniqueness of the dishes. It was definitely a highlight of our wedding week. Additionally, I'm vegetarian, and Kyle absolutely outdid himself putting together creative options that even the pickiest of meat eaters raved about (Mushroom and Tofu wontons and Avocado Egg Rolls were amongst the favorites!).
Not only was the food beyond or expectations, but the service was fantastic. Rachel had a table of wine set up and offered guests a glass as they entered. She also ensured no one's glass went empty throughout the evening and was just a delightful addition to our party. Additionally the room The Exchange has available to host parties / get togethers is great. It is private and very spacious, with a big screen TV (we played our wedding slideshow), and a private bathroom, which is great, as guests don't have to use the one in the main restaurant. And Kyle and his team had name cards printed up and put them at table settings as per our request and even had printed menus up of the evening's selections and had them sitting at each plate so our guests could see all the details for all of the different menu items.
And for all of this, the value was incredible. I think our guests probably assumed we paid 2-3 times the amount we paid, due to the amazing quality of the food paired with the impeccable service.
The Exchange is a wonderful restaurant, and my husband and I are happy to continue to support this establishment for...
Read moreWe had yet another fantastic dining experience at The Exchange, and this visit truly exceeded all expectations! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was vibrant and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening. Our server, Angela, was an absolute gem, her enthusiasm for the menu and her attentive service made all the difference.
She went above and beyond, sharing her favorites and suggesting delightful pairings that enhanced our meal. Angela’s warm personality and genuine care made us feel like we were the most important guests in the restaurant.
We decided to try the Cuban sandwich, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The combination of flavors was harmonious, with perfectly grilled bread and succulent fillings that danced on our taste buds.
As we dined, the atmosphere buzzed with laughter and the clinking of glasses, adding to the excitement of the evening. Each bite of food felt like a celebration, and we savored every moment.
Overall, it was an amazing dinner that transcended our expectations, and we can’t wait to return for another culinary adventure at The Exchange! We returned to the exchange once again and it was an unforgettable evening. The evening was nothing short of magical and the weather absolutely stunning. Our amazing server Taylor greeted us and seated us right away outside on their beautiful patio where the ambiance was perfect. We kicked off the evening with a chilled bottle of prosecco, paired with the mouthwatering Cuban sandwich and delicious pasta. Along with the weather and the great server and food, the night was complete. There's always ample parking available...
Read moreChose this place for my birthday bc the menu looked cool and I love hand cut fries. Bad mistake. The waitress was sweet but new, so there were a lot of mistakes- wrong drinks, overcharged food, etc. My husband ordered Manhattan clam chowder and was brought the other soup of the day, which was vegetable. When he told the waitress he got the wrong soup she said he just doesn’t know what Manhattan clam chowder is. We are plenty old enough to know what vegetable soup is, but when she offered to bring the chef out to prove it it just got awkward. She said she would comp the soup but never did. My sil asked for coffee but she said it was 5 hours old so she opted not to have any. How about you make a new pot? Still, she was new and doing her best- no problem. The fries were so bad. Beyond bad. Translucent with grease. My brothers sandwich didn’t have half the ingredients listed and had almost no filling on it. Basically a bun with two tiny pulled chicken pcs. That all sucked, but within 30 min of eating I became sick, as did two of my kids and my nephew. Puking, the whole thing. I called the manager the next day to talk about it respectfully and he told me we must have the flu and to quit complaining to him. Claims he offered me multiple solutions (?) and to call the owner when he is around. He was incredibly rude to someone who was just trying to explain...
