Not too overcrowded, clean beach and facilities, family friendly. Parking can be difficult to find on very hot days. Staff and amenities are fine, no complaints but nothing to write home about. Over-policing has been a nuisance in the past, being a "presence" but actually bullying beach-goers. Cops must leave the people alone and show up only when there's a serious and legitimate crime in progress. Officers seem to think it's okay for them to enjoy leisure Time at the beach, walking around with guns, taking up space and parking. The lake's water is generally clear, but being freshwater it's unfair to expect crystal clear blues. The sand is coarse mixed with fine decomposition matter which contributes to the brownish color. I've been enjoying visits to this beach for 25 years and hope it stays open and funded for many...

We come here mostly for the sand volleyball which is a 5 out of 5! I brought the review down because the water is yucky and super shallow. I'm 5'5" and in the deepest part of the swimming area it comes to my belly button. So basically this beach is ideal for families with young kids. Also important to note that the lifeguards take 15 minute breaks every hour, in which there is no swimming allowed. We also brought food to grill one time and there was only one grill we could find which was right by a pavilion that was being rented out for a family reunion. They weren't pleased with our little bit of smoke we caused cooking our hot dogs but it was noon on a Saturday at a public park so what...

Great sandy, clean beach. Shallow water extends far, great for little kids. There's a big water/sand table on the beach. Big grassy area between parking and sand where most people set up, accessible paved walkway to the beach. Recommend a wagon if you have lots of gear and few carriers or little ones. Little to no shade except one side by the tree line. A good amount of picnic tables. Some spider web type play things, but otherwise the playgrounds...

It's a great place to come out and enjoy the beach and nature. It's best on days less crowded and busy. I've been here when it was ridiculously busy before and although it was still fun for everyone, keep in mind that there will not be a lot of parking spots as well as a place to sit near the beach. But you'll never know until you get there. So just go and have fun!

Nice place.. pretty clean beach. Has lots of space so you can openly play sports like frisbee, soccer, football, etc. there is also a cafe but the cashier does not wear a mask... and there are roped hammocks available to the public and a nice volleyball net.
