Willow Street Park — Attraction in New Britain

I love this little Park I'll go there almost every day it's a great place to bring kids and other family IT HAS SO MANY Poke Stops, which is a destination for Pokemon game players and it even has two Pokemon gyms nearby. I WOULD EVEN CALL THIS A POKEMON PARK! IT also has basketball courts (two full courts). There's a waterpark that's small but it's enough space for 20 kids or so, with an area for the adults to hang around and have a picnic while they kids play together in the water park or on the small playgrounds nearby, I believe it has two playgrounds, one for little kids and one for bigger kids. Most days it's not too crowded and there are plenty of places to eat nearby there's a pizza shop and a few small convenience stores very close to the entrance of the park making it easy to have a picnic on the go with the shopping plaza nearby you can pick up anything you need for your picnic or or a Cook-Out I have seen a few people throwing parties there. Most of all the atmosphere seems very family-friendly it's not a violent area I haven't witnessed many crimes except maybe for like drug use and some public drinking overall is one of my favorite places to be in New Britain...

I brought my son here because the park looks clean and vibrant in the photos. When I got there, I was surprised to see that it was in a bad neighborhood and I would have NEVER expected the park to be where it was. Regardless, I continued on to the park because I was impressed with the park itself. Unfortunately, we only played for about an hour because there were grown adults smoking cigarettes around the kids and I started to smell weed and I didn’t want my son around that. Unfortunately the people ruined it for me. One of the older kids told their sister to follow my two year old around and pour water on his head. Even though it’s a water park, my son doesn’t like water being poured on his head. My son handled it well at first but then she took it too far and instead of her parents scolding her, I had to tell her to stop. Another child kept stopping the water wherever my son was trying to go to fill his little cup and I had to scold him too. The park is beautiful, but because of the people I won’t be going...

Horrible. People don’t respect that this park is next to apartments and houses and that people live here which means people work and children go to school. Cars and motorcycles pass at all hours of the day and night revving engines and speeding not caring if they can hurt a child, bottles of alcohol everywhere and people let dangerous dogs roam without a leash. Sick and tired of this. If it weren’t because I own property here and can’t just leave, I’d be out faster than the speed of light! To top it off, the older kids are always starting fights with younger kids and all you see if drug deals and the homeless sleeping on the tables...
