This place is beautiful, but all four of us immediately felt “off” when we drove into town and especially when we stepped into the church. After we all remarked how creeped out we felt, I started really researching this town. Honestly, I probably never would have stopped here if I had all that information beforehand. 😬 Call me paranoid, but it took DAYS of praying and processing to get rid of the icks.
It may be nothing, but I’m going to trust my gut on this one.

Read moreGo to New Harmony at all costs... if you like strange airy places lost in the middle of nowhere in another time. I was there in May, 2015 with the zillions of cicadas doing their noisy noise ;-) In between the Roofless church, Richard Meier's all-white Atheneun museum, the abandoned bridge, the library full of paraphaernalia, Robert Owens' small settlers houses, the quaint main street and some more structures right out of a Hopper painting, that's a cool place they should use for movies (maybe a Stephen King)....
Read moreIt is an interesting place. I really liked the lookout area. There's a nice water fountain feature with a cute quote dedicated to grandparents. It's very well maintained. The place is free to enter. We parked along the road in the front, but I believe there may have been parking outside of the black and gold gate? We didn't see that until we had entered. I imagine that this would be an incredible place to host special events, like a wedding ceremony...
