Aldis sells non-brand-name items and overstocked brand-name items. They have good deals sometimes. They have a lot of pop-up merchandise which may only be sold for a while, sometimes as little as 1-2 weeks, then no more. There are videos online and articles online for how to shop at Aldis. If you haven't been to ALDIs before or wonder why things are the way they are, read them & watch them. They've installed some do-it-yourself checkouts in 2023. Prior to this change, you had to wait 10-15 minutes in line to check out, which was probably the most unpleasant part of shopping there. Now, there's no wait but you do the work of scanning & bagging... or you can still wait 10-15 minutes in the line for the one manned register. I don't mind doing the work to save time - my biggest concern with self-checkouts is the way they accuse people of shoplifting. You're basically guilty unless you can prove yourself innocent. Or so I've read. They have a scanner that's supposed to check the prices in the store before you go to the register. It doesn't work. A lot of the pictures on this site were taken before the June 2019 renovation which changed the way the store looked. Also they are constantly changing packaging and products so many of the items that you see in these pictures may not be available when you go shopping.

I popped into the store again over the weekend and I must say, the prices, product quality and the level of floor staff remain impressive. However, the checkout process still relies heavily on a single cashier, with a strong nudge towards using the self-checkout machines. On my latest visit, there weren't any queues, possibly because I'm becoming a familiar face. To get a broader perspective, I had some friends shop during peak hours, and it appears the issue persists—shoppers with full carts are being directed to use the self-service kiosks. This setup seems to be causing frustration among customers and cashiers alike, with the latter feeling overwhelmed. It's disappointing to see that management hasn't yet taken steps to address this feedback. I see they keep getting new cashiers. I am sure they keep resigning. obviously due to the continued pressure from customers in part by delays online. I can't see how retraining new cashiers is cost effective. I'll be sure to keep my reviews current to reflect any changes observed in the future. I placed an order over $400 with Instacart/Aldi on June 20th that was delivered to New York, NY 10017 on June 22nd. This order was part of a larger fundraiser we were doing in partnership with charities in Ukraine. Once the order was delivered, I sorted everything into boxes and did not touch the items for around 14 days. After 14 days, my colleague was going through the boxes to label what items were inside and when she opened the box with the "Whole and Simple Mediterranean Chicken Quinoa Bowl," there was an awful smell and dozens of flies came out. To make matters worse, at the bottom of the box, as well as on the actual food products, were maggots (I have pictures). Needless to say, this was unacceptable. The entire box of food which consisted of more than just the order from Aldi (roughly $500-600) had to be disposed of immediately. I am only grateful that my colleague opened the box prior to us shipping it, along with all our other supplies, to charities in Ukraine. I reached out to Aldi for assistance, who pushed the issue over to Instacart who was beyond useless. I am still waiting for somoni to rectify this situation but am feeling hopeless.

AWESOME place to shop for food...REALLY FRESH food and low low prices...Like one of the reviewer said...Trader Joe's Married Costco...VERY TRUE....Excellent quality food but smaller packages and warehouse prices..I live on the other side of Brooklyn and make special trip To shop here...I first learn about Aldis when I lived in Florida.......Must go there early...Many times they don't restock the produce section...got there one time at 6pm and half the veggie section were empty....Their fresh salsa and bean dips are party favors..love their pasta sauces and box pasta. And don't forget their frozen Italian meatballs...Makes a great pasta and meatball meal .only find that brand at Aldis.. they have a really good selection of raw beef and chicken...Most of the stuff they carry are really good, Non GMO and organic..I love trying all their different foods and dips...try their cheese and pair it with salami and antipasta..If u find something u really like...Stock up bc..they run out quick and takes them a while to restock...their 52oz Orange Juice is under $2.50...where can you find good OJ for that price

Many Aldis are kept in very nice and neat condition...with the volume the Brooklyn location get...place can get a bit disorganized..and yes it does get crowd. Its nice they have plenty of park on the roof.

I can't compare another food outlet that has such delicious food and low low prices..dont be turn away from the long lines at check out..Cashiers work really fast..Wish all stores work like that..Bring your shopping bags and a quarter to rent the shopping carts...you get the quarter back when you return the cart

Oh yea.. Wednesdays are best day to shop at Aldis..these when the new flyer begins

Wish they open more...

I did my regular grocery shopping routine at Aldi as I always do but unfortunately I've been having frequent bad experiences. Which really sucks because they have great products at very low prices and I'd really hate it that I would have to stop going because of there terrible customer service. They really need to fix the whole cart system. What had happened was that I originally arrived at the cashier with one cart, but because my groceries were just thrown into my cart (bread smashed) it resulted in me needing two, I was willing to give her a quarter inexchange for the extra cart which she rudely refused and yelled, NO this is my cart!! I replied that I didn't have another cart and was again yelled at with the NO this is my cart!! I told her, how else am I supposed to take my groceries (my car was located on the roof) but again she replied with the NO this is my cart you can't take it!! I told her I would bring it back after but she refused. Long story short I told her I would bring it back and walked away with it because she was creating a huge scene that refused to be part off.

Ps: Keep in mind that this isn't the first time that I ended up needing two carts, what the cashier did was ask for a quarter in exchange and we went our separate ways. I ended up giving her the...
