This place sucks! Common items not on the shelves for months, overpriced, aged items. The management is awful. In the middle of the day, you'll find 2 cashiers. My problem today is that I went there for a few items that totalled $24, when my cashier made no effort to pack my groceries into the bag I had brought with me, I took noticed. After giving me my change, she proceeded to the shopper behind me. So I asked, her and she said that bagging groceries was a courtesy. COURTESY!. I'm 62 and never had to bag my own groceries unless it was a self checkout. Most of the time, I even aid in the bagging of my groceries, but I've never heard this in my life. In fact, I told the cashier such, and I took the time to chide the store about its substandard condition along with its blatant disrespect to me and the community of color for which it serves. Rest assured, I will never patronize this establishment again, I will go to Keyfoods, Stopnshop, Aldis or Wal-Mart. Stay away from Associates supermarket, stay far away!
Update May 22nd, 2023: Okay, I went to this supermarket again, but I needed a few basic things. The sign outside the front door of associated says New Management. It's not! It still sucks! There are many things this store still doesn't have that are basic essentials. They need to sell this location to a different chain because, if it were a halfway decent supermarket, it would be crowded due to...
Read moreEhhhhh, I want to rate this supermarket more because I loooove the young people at the registers, but the supermarket itself leaves a lot to be desired. HORRIBLE produce - old and wilted - and at higher prices. I asked the manager for my favorite ginger dressing which the old management use to carry, and it never happened. Only go here if necessary, but for your major shopping - if you're looking for something with price friendly healthy and organic options - this IS NOT the place for you!
Update: I've had some horrible experiences here since the holidays. Bought eggnog and it was spoiled so went back and had to wait a few days to exchange it, only to take home another spoiled bottle; bought turkey breast and it was spoiled and smelled so horrible throughout the whole house; saw some hawaiian rolls I was so eager to try only to see mold growing throughout the edges - and not a little bit of mold. All of these things happened in the last month. I live in the area and it's so hard to not have a local supermarket that cares about the quality of products served to its' customers. Avoid this supermarket if you have other options!...
Read moreThe store itself is clean, most of the staff are friendly and provide good customer service, with exception of the deli department. I placed an order on Too Good To Good and arrived at the store within the time frame specified in the app. I was able to enter the store. My order was paid in advance and reserved.
However, I was told that they prepare the Too Good To Go orders in advance, apparently not taking in consideration reserved and paid orders. Then I was told I didn't give them enough time and that I came in as the store was closing. If true, the proper pickup hours need to be specified in the app for this store with consideration for pick up orders, to say 30 minutes before close. I left without my reserved and paid for order.
I probably won't order from there again mainly because of the customer service and how unwilling the deli guy was to assist. I worked in retail and transportation before dealing with customers and it's customers who will maintain your business. Without them, this would just be a store front with no one to serve and no...
