Update: Google doesn't allow me to delete the review but the establishment did rectify the situation and gave me a partial refund for the inconvenience my family and I experienced.
It pains me to have to write a review like this for a black owned business but this is the most horrible experience I have ever encountered in my ENTIRE life. On 3/9 I reached out to Titus Runcie (co-owner) of Pa Nash Euro soul and told him I want to have my uncle’s repass there on Saturday. After a lot confusion we came up with a price of $2000 fOr 25 people. My cousin that lives in Jersey then sent me $2000 and then I gave Titus the money all cash in hopes that every thing would work it self out by Saturday. Something told me to come earlier than everyone else just to make sure everything was okay. First thing I noticed the tables were separated in 4. I asked could the tables be put together. Why would you have four separate tables if I said 25 people are coming for a family repass? They gave us plastic spoon and a plastic cup to eat goat head soup out of. I was so embarrassed . Every single thing was served on plastic. As well as our entrees which we had to line up like we were in a cafeteria. He said that would be “easier”. Our juices we're given to us in plastic cups with plastic jugs on the table. And when we asked for napkins he took the dirty black napkin holders from the bar & put it on the table. We didn't get rolled up silverware in cloths like a normal fine dining restaurant would of given us. Same process for the dessert. They tried to get us to line up again. My cousin who was very annoyed asked if they could at least plate them instead of just letting us get up again. When we were wrapping up he tried to give us the whole container that the food was served from and put foil over it. SO GHETTO AND CLASSLESS! My cousin asked can we get doggie bags. He then said he would have to run across the street and get it. They started removing the plastic plates and everything so early with half of food still on our plates like tHey we're rushing us. I called him and started to express myself. He told me he wasn't satisfied with the service either and that he wanted to talk to me in person. I met with him at his other business Golden KruST. He spent a whole 20 mins taking responsibility for everything and apologizing which I did appreciate that. I said I Dont want any future credit or anything because I wouldn't be having any big event at Pa Nash soon. I also told him it wasn't my money it was my cousins money that lives in New Jersey so a future credit would be of no use to her cause she is far away. It's funny how he could take our money so quickly but then take a whole week to make a decision about givIng us a partial refund. Finally this morning 3/21, I call him and he tells me th”sorry daynel but we can't give a partial refund we can give a future credit” I asked him ”Titus is this a decision you and your wife feel 100% comfortable with after you admitted the service was subpar” he said yes. I had him on speakerphone the whole time and my whole family shook their hEad in disbelief. We didn't even ask for a full refund just a partial. I have never been so disgusted with someone in my life. After you made me sit there for a whole 20 minutes And listen to your apology This is what you come up with. I feel like we were scammed. You took peoples hard working money and gave us the worse service imaginable and what was convenient for you. Let's not forget the meats you used were from Golden Krust, they weren't freshly prepared at Pa Nash. I tried to give him a chance because as black business owners we already get enough slack. My cousin is out $2000 just like that. I just Dont understand how someone can actually admit they were wrong but do nothing to make it right. I feel so disrespected and humiliated at what he tried to offer me. I will never patronize at Pa Nash again and I will do everything in my power to make sure all my colleagues, friends and business partners never give this...
Read moreI went to a private party at Pa-Nash. The party started at 6:00 pm. I did not get there until 6:30 pm and still had to wait for dinner. The dinner tables were so closed together that if the person sitting in the inside seat wanted to get out everyone in the row would have to get up and move out of the way. I chose to sit in a lounge chair with a small table in front. I requested to have my dinner served to me there. I was give a fork and knife set in a napkin. The first table was served salad and after ten the second table was served salad. An hour had passed by the time all thirty guests were served salad. The salad was a simple salad of spinach, lettuce and a few carrots dressed with a citrus sauce. It was not the greatest salad, but it was not the worse salad either. For dinner I elected the toasted almond crusted Tilapia. Twenty minutes after the salad was served to me, the dinner came. The salad was served with spinach with carrots, and rice with peas. The meal was terrible. The meal was lukewarm and the rice was tough like what happens when you heat rice in the microwave for too long. The Tilapia, rice and spinach with carrots mix all had the same taste; the same citrus dressing that was on the salad. I forced myself to eat as too not upset the person who was being celebrated at this party. I asked the server for water to help wash down this most unpleasant meal, and she brought me a small plastic cup (probably four ounces or less), filled with ice which reduced the water content. The parties sitting next to me also found the food distasteful and wanted to have hot sauce to add some flavoring to the food. I asked the server for hot sauce and she never brought the hot sauce. When I googled Pa-Nash and saw the amenities that was offered I had high expectations. I was duped. There was no DJ, no Live band, the decor was okay, except for the tight table arrangement. Worse of all is the service was terrible and the food was disgusting. I would not recommend this...
Read moreWonderful decor, excellent service from Warren, very clean restrooms, delicious food!!! I was truly surprised to find this gem in a familiar neighborhood. I typically travel to Brooklyn or the city for great food and atmosphere. But I was pleasantly surprised by Pa-Nash. No extensive travel required, I was seated immediately and there was ample street parking. First came the drinks....i ordered a Haitian Sensation (strawberry puree and champagne)...it was tasty, reminded me of a Bellini. Next came the pineapple rum punch....strong yet flavorful...definitely great mixes....Let's talk about the food. It was exceptional. The first entree was steak and mash potatoes. The portion size is great. The steak while a little fatty was cooked exactly as requested (medium) and seasoned very well. The mashes potatoes had just a hint of butter and cheese that weren't overwhelming to the mouth. The steamed veggies were a perfect mix of flavor and crunch. I also ordered the mango shrimp with carribean rice. While it was delicious I was a little disheartened by the portion size. The shrimp definitely weren't jumbo. But it was delicious nonetheless. On to the dessert....coconut red velvet cake with a side of vanilla icecream...very light and sweet...it was amazing. The bathrooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. Anyone who knows me knows if a bathroom is dirty I will not eat....to me it shows attention to detail and care for others. Hands down the bathroom was super clean, smelled good, tissue stocked, had hand soap and hand dryers Negative: there was a party going on downstairs with very loud music playing, it was difficult to hear others in my party talking or even hearing my host Warren. They should invest in sound proofing to maintain the lounge vibe. Overall this place is a 4 out of 5 stars...with slight adjustments it will become the perfect hang out or dinner date location for the...
