Bellaire Playground — Attraction in New York

It is a playground with swings, slides and climbing equipment. All the equipment is permanently set on the ground. Therefore, it is a traditional playground as mentioned in the prompt of this assignment. This is located near the road in a crowded neighborhood, therefore this playground does not have grass area or extra spaces for children to run around. This playground offered did not include any or equipment for creative play. The equipment is for children’s gross motor needs. There are multiple play areas and spaces for several types of large muscle exercises. This area only has water play area but does not have equipment or tools to support water play. There isn’t any stage are for dramatic play, neither any gardening area with tools. There are slides, swings and climbing structure of different heights for smaller and taller children. This playground equipment is wide enough for few children to play together at a time. Children gets the chance to get involve in social activities and learn from their peers. There are areas wit shade and benches for adults. The Bellaire Playground is safe for children. There weren’t any shredded any sharp edges on the equipment, neither there was any broken glass. It was free of litter as well. One thing I noticed in the playground that one of adult was smoking inside the playground area. This behavior can have harmful affects on children. There is shock absorbing material under climbing equipment. There are safety fences around the swings. Children were in the eyesight of the playground monitors and their parents. There are safety nets between the basketball and handball courts that are often used by older students. This is a good playground overall. Bellaire playground was once much bigger but the elementary school was expanded and took over the land that once housed 5 extra basketball courts. Now there's only 2 hoops which make up the 1 full court. The beauty ia that it's in the shade. A huge tree fell down and broke some fences and left a huge hole in the ground. Maybe 1 day they'll fix the fences and the hole. Besides that there's a bathroom for males and females. The 2 water fountains could use an upgrade. Highlights include a small and large play area for children, infant swings, along with older kid swings. There's plenty of benches for people to sit, even a couple of tables.
