Haggerty Park — Attraction in New York

There's a baseball field, 2 full basketball courts, a couple of rims to the side, a workout station, volleyball set up, a real nice playground for the kids, benches, tables with self made chess and checker boards. There's a small bathroom for men and women. There's a Family Dollar across the street. Park is on Jamaica Ave. with access to Q110 bus and dollar cabs. It's home to many park jams. For those that may not know Jimi Hendrix performed in this park. Not as a concert, he just showed up and started playing. There were about 150+ people watching. I had no clue who he was being under 10 yo at the time in 1970 when I lived in the apartments on 199th street next to the park. I have some pictures of 199th street back then I may post if anyone...

This looks like a park with potential. There are flood lights at the field to play sports after dark. I often see people play soccer and cricket. However, maintenance of the park greatly needs improvement. Often, lots of garbage around the park that needs picking up. Not great place for...
