Belson Stadium is a marvelous facility used by St John's University for its' soccer and lacrosse teams. NYC FC also utilizes this stadium for its reserve team's games as well. Built and opened in 2002, the stadium is a unique facility in its construction, as the stadium is built on top of a parking garage. Nevertheless, it is large enough to hold 2200+ fans with intimate confines, giving fans a closeness to the action, you can actually feel you are on top of the action, as well as great sightlines for the field. The Public Address system is superlative, and anyone concerned about safety can be reassured, because the Campus Public Safety personnel are most professional and efficient in their dispatch of their duty. Read moreNYCFC brought in a big crowd for this stadium about 1,800. Down side is there was only 1 vendor to buy refreshments & snacks with a line that took approximately 20 minutes during halftime. The stadium was not prepared with 1 vendor & 2 restroooms. It would have been wise to add another vendor & bring in some portable toilets. Seats were tight & no elbow room.
