Facial service was good, but the reception lady was horribly rude, unprofessional and full of sarcasm. I received good service from Sindy but ended up ruining my whole day by reception desk's terrible service and verbal abuse.
If you are the business owner, my advice is to find a better reception desk who does at least a little bit customer service instead of pushing customers away.
So here's more detail:
I've never seen such an unprofessional reception desk, precisely, a female with short hair. I was told 3 totally different versions of membership packages (1. prepay six-facial-package and get 10% off, 2. “no we do not sell service package”, 3. deposit $500 and get roughly 10% off). Sounds like she randomly made 3 decisions just a second ago. Since I triple checked, she eventually confirmed the most expensive version.
They also add burden on their members to carry a member card. I was given a card and informed it has to be present during my every visit. Then I questioned this requirement as most salons only ask about phone number and it is unfair to put responsibility on customers to keep an additional card or memorize the lengthy card number. Since then, I suffered endless verbal abuse from the reception desk until I requested to refund my package deposit and ran away. The lady with short hair even dropped a sentence “well, I don't know what I did wrong”. Here's my reply to this lady: Adding 'thank you' and 'ok?' at the end to every single sentence does NOT make you a polite person and it does NOT change the fact that your endless verbal abuse was mocking and surly. It was sarcastic that you stopped my every sentence by your 'thank you' and 'ok?'.
Ladies and gents, if you have to choose this salon, please bear in mind that do not try to question their reception desk else they will 'gently' ridicule you in the next few minutes and you won't even have a chance to speak out (as they won't let you do). If you have to purchase a service package for some reason, please be aware that you may have to please the fussy reception desk to get a little discount. Again as a reminder, there are TONS of salons nearby and this place does...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for 3 years… my go to no frills spot with consistent masseuses. Today I got my usual one hour massage and I distinctly remember because they asked twice. I wasn’t informed about any price changes but was charged $25 more than usual. When I asked about the inflated rate, I was just told that 70 minute massages are $70. That’s not what I agreed to nor is that their usual price. Their website does not reflect changes. If they raised their price that’s totally fine, people have to survive and it’s already a great deal… I just feel duped because they made it sound like it’s always like that and they charged me for more time than I agreed to… I used to come here weekly and I’m a generous tipper so why play this weird scam game with me over a couple of dollars?
Update: I got a call from the owner after they read the review. He was very polite and acknowledged that a mistake was made. I appreciated the lengths he went to correct the mistake! Will return to my favorite spa :)
Update 2: I returned to best spa and they moreeeee than made up for the misstep. The customer service was impeccable -They remembered me even though it had been a while since my post. They credited me entirely for the massages I got previously when they certainly did not have to do that - I thought it would just be the difference in cost. They were warm, friendly, and of course, the massages were fantastic. Thank you so much...
Read moreI called and was told that a deep tissue massage for 60-minute was $40. When I got there, I was pushed to get the 70-minute essential oil massage for $70. I told her that I’m not sure about the essential oil because I may be allergic and maybe I should do the deep tissue massage but she kept pushing the essential oil massage, so I ended up getting it. Although she was very friendly, I did not like being pushed sales.
Instructions to prep for the massage isn’t very clear. I was kind of confused and was trying to make out the charades.
Here are the instructions based on my experience for an essential oils massage:
The massage was okay and honestly very painful. The masseuse was quite rough and I felt like he was just slapping things (blanket, towel, etc) around. I personally would not go back.
The place seems pretty clean. As soon as you walk through the door, they ask you to change into slippers and leave your shoes by the door. Everyone working there had...
