My friend wanted Korean ginseng chicken soup so I yelped some places and this one came up highly recommended. When we went in, we were seated immediately and then we chose what we wanted. I got the spicy pork bone soup and my friend got the chicken ginseng soup. We also got a seafood scallion pancake to share. The best part of the meal was the seafood scallion pancake. The batter was perfectly crispy and there was a good ratio of crisp to chewy with the scallions. There could have been more seafood honestly for the price they charge. There are tiny pieces of cut up squid here and there. My friend said their chicken ginseng soup was good but tasted like it wasn't cooked long enough. I tasted it and it was okay.....the ginseng flavor was not very potent or lasting. It was a very faint undertone....not sure of this is how ginseng soups normally taste bc the ginseng soups ive had have a pleasant bitter sweet taste departed from the ginseng. The pork bone soup was pleasantly flavored but not sure if it is related.....but I had diarrhea and stomach pains coming home and that was the last thing I ate. There is plenty of banchan provided and they refill. They are prompt to give you the check after about an hour.....without you asking, as if they are kicking you out.
Nice mom and pop place but not sure if I'd return and get their chicken ginseng soup....perhaps if try other stuff on their menu though. Heads up, workers there don't speak...
Read moreOrdered UberEats delivery and the food was really mediocre. We may have been spoiled by the other restaurants in the area that offers the same stews and dishes.
So little banchan came for a 3 person order that we were a bit annoyed - until we tried them and noted how underwhelming they all were. The pickled cucumbers tasted and smelled off. It was hard to describe, but mothballs come to mind. The radish kimchi came soft and warm - either it’s stale and over fermented or it just sat out too long.
Galbitang was so greasy and oily. About a half inch of oil floated on the top - I know a bit of grease is expected but this was just disappointing. The soup tasted fine, but all the meat needed more of the fat trimmed. Some pieces were almost inedible.
Kalguksu broth was bland and flavorless. The noodles came all stuck together and overcooked. If I could rate a worse rating for this dish alone, I would.
The gomjatang had so many bits of tiny broken bones that enjoying the soup was difficult. Flavor was fine.
I was really disappointed after reading all the positive reviews on this restaurant. Maybe it’s the delivery quality that differs. Avoid ordering...
Read moreEver since my husband went to this place with his friend, he’s been telling me we have to try their duck stew and that I absolutely need to experience it. Finally, last weekend, we made it happen!
We've tried many duck stew spots in New Jersey and New York, but this one takes the crown.
They use fresh duck delivered daily, so it's always as fresh as it gets. No frozen or refrigerated duck here. The broth is incredibly clean and light, with no unnecessary heaviness—just pure, delicious flavor.
After finishing the stew, you can choose between crispy rice, handmade noodles, or dough flakes to finish off the meal. My husband had the dough flakes last time, so we opted for the crispy rice this time.
It felt so good to have such a hearty and nutritious meal. If you're a fan of duck, I highly recommend this place!
The owner and staff are also super friendly, which made the experience...
