Old school theater with a lot of nice little modern touches. Definitely can see the old school aesthetic which is a very nice touch that they kept some of that .Me and my kids really like this theater and appreciate the discount on Tuesdays. I know they're doing it mostly because midweek is hard for the movie theaters, but when you're on a budget and you have more than one kid movies can get expensive. The free popcorn definitely helps! a lot of theaters do these discounted days or times. However you're still having to pay outrageous prices for concessions. Or I'm having to buy one very large popcorn and trying to pass that back and forth between three kids and hope it doesn't spill everywhere. They each get their own popcorn nobody complains. The rest of the concessions are reasonably priced. You don't walk out of there, especially on a Tuesday. Feeling like you need to go home and doing an internet search on where to sell blood plasma Because you have spent a small fortune seeing a movie. Sometimes other theaters you're paying more for the concessions than you are for the tickets. It's something they don't necessarily have to do, but the fact that they do makes them stand out above the rest. It adds to the experience of seeing the movie. They also have a wide selection of movies that they play. (Our go to theater used to be Stewart in Greenpoint because they also have a discount day. However, they only play one movie at a time.) Now These are not giant theaters and they Don't have huge screens but that's not really an issue. You can see from wherever you're sitting .Seating is comfortable. The reclining seats are great .
The only thing for the most part ,minus the gentleman in the front who takes tickets it seems like it's run by kids in their late teens to early twenties there's sometimes have a little bit of an attitude. Which is to be expected from that age group.... On occasion. 8 times out of ten they're pleasant. I only have the gripe is it lately it seems that their website doesn't want to work for ordering tickets and I have had to have no choice but to order from Fandango which okay but I'd rather order directly from the theater. Plus I think their fee is a little cheaper to order directly from them then it is...
Read moreThis has been my go-to theater for years, but the condition of the theater, specifically the seats, is no longer what it was, and I no longer go. The remodel 5-6 years ago was beautiful, but has since gone severely downhill. I feel extremely uncomfortable even sitting in the chairs because they're so worn, peeling, crusty, and dirty looking. Take a look under them. They don't clean the theater, but merely sweep the garbage, food, and filth under the chairs. I'm not surprised to see the reviews about mice.
I understand that the ticket prices are cheaper here, but maybe it's time to bump them to ensure proper cleaning and regular updating of things that need to be pulled up and thrown in the dumpster.
THEATER 1: The biggest and cleanest theater, significantly more upkept, I assume for the bigger blockbusters
THEATER 2: Filthy room, smells like used baby diapers, dirty broken chairs
THEATER 4: Filthy room. Small theater, Row E has gross, deteriorating seats at the aisle, inner chairs are less worn
THEATER 5: Last row left side falls under the speaker. Extremely loud.
It seems there either aren't enough employees or the employees aren't paying attention, but I've seen movies with volume too low until someone was notified, and another time the lights were left on, again, until someone was notified.
It's a real shame because this space has a lot of history and character and the lobby and concession stand is adorable. It should be treated with respect, cleaned, and maintained.
Also, if you're there for a movie and you drop garbage, for the love of God pick up after yourself. It's disgraceful to see what patrons have done...
Read moreWhere do I start. I went a few months ago and there were constant audio issues. The audio would cut off or the screen would blank out several times during a movie. I had to run back and forth to inform the staff. Sent a complaint on their website. Pure silence and no acknowledgement. Just took my money and stayed silent. I went today because I wanted to give them another chance. I loved this movie theater pre-covid but not anymore. Turns out someone threw up all over the seats that we purchased. The guy and the girl were really nice and were trying to clean it up. So my family and I sat down in another seat but more people started coming in and we had to move. I went to speak to the staff again and she explained what was going on to her manager Mr. Wong . Instead of attempting to fix the situation he tried to blame me for sitting in another seat. And was coming off very condescending to myself and his female employee. Wong Lee needs customer service training badly. I’m not even upset about my seat because it is not their fault someone threw up and left without saying anything. It’s how the situation was handled. This is truly a shame because all I wanted was to watch a nice movie with my family. I buy food to support the theater but not anymore. I’m truly disgusted with this place and won’t be coming back. Thanks a lot Cinemart Cinemas. Completely ruined my movie experience. Not once but twice. And for the employees that helped clean the seat. They are good people and were very sympathetic. Those are the kinda staff that are worth keeping. I’m sorry that you have to put up with...
