The NY Botanical Garden as I have said in the past is outstanding. The Singapore Orchid show in the Haupt Conservatory is incredible. The miles of trails in early Spring are starting to show the early rebirth of the Garden after a calm winter. We walked about 3.5 miles on an exquisite Spring day, however the Tram tour is also an excellent viewing and learning venue. There are two restaurants, one self serve and one full service. We are members and beginning mid March we go every 10 to 14 days to witness the ever changing beauty from the early blooming Witch hazel, the million Daffodils, the Dogwood, Cherries, Crab Apple, Lilacs and the fantastic Rose Garden. Read moreEven though that is clearly stated on all maps that is a bike trail and a bike trail or they have the leaves on the floor that let you know how to get in there they say that there's no bike riding in there and it's $25 to ride through the park to walk through it 15 if you from New York. But I've been in here and botanical gardens isn't worth $15 never mind 25 you would expect it to be beautiful and have Rose and Rose of flowers as far as I can see in to be so well maintained but it ain't nothing but a big bunch of grasses and buildings that you got to pay to to see extra other stuff don't waste your money just ride...
Read moreThe rating is for the convenience alone to enter this gorgeous garden. This entrance is perfect for Bronx residents of White Plains/Pelham Parkway and beyond. Workers range from friendly to meh. Wednesdays is free all day (10a-6p) for NYC residents. Used to be Saturday mornings too and its a shame that they removed that privilege when many work and are only able to visit the park...
