POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO A LONGTIME PATRON (WHO DOES SPEAK SOME SPANISH)
I've been ordering from Steven's (formerly Los Compis) for the last 10 years. They serve good quality food at an affordable price. A few days ago, I ordered an entire chicken for delivery... It appeared charred, rather than brown... Not a big deal for a guy like me who loves to eat in general... However, after trying several pieces deep beneath the skin, I realized that the char had completely permeated the chicken... The next day, I called the restaurant and was transferred to the manager... He immediately became defensive and insisted that I should have called the same day I ordered... I explained that I ordered the food late at night, and by the time I began eating, the restaurant was closed... He then told me that he "personally remembered taking my order and he was sure that the chicken he picked out was perfectly fine." I countered that I had in fact, spoken with a woman when I ordered, and that I have the entire chicken and receipt in hand (because it was obvious that he assumed that I was trying to get over or take advantage in some way). He then asked me (in an enraged tone) "so what do you want to do?" Equally enraged (at least now...insulted too), I said that I was on my way to get a new chicken... When I arrived and explained to the lady again that I had a chicken and receipt and wanted a new one, she spoke with the manager... Lucky for them, I don't understand Spanish as much as I speak, but clearly, there was alot of negativity and hostility... Further it's quite rude to speak in another language without at least acknowledging my presence...which the manager never did... No apologies, and clearly, no joy... So, that may be the last time I order from Steven's again... It's a shame when the little things that can mean so much to a business and the community of individuals that support it are neglected... Even though I picked out the chicken, and it was prepared right in front of me, I barely ate it... The fact is, that kind of customer service left a really sour taste in my mouth that lingers as I write...
