Evergreen Community Garden — Attraction in New York

Info impossible to find on hours open to the public. It is open only for a couple of hours in the morning during standard commuting hours. This is essentially a private garden for the local residents, but since it seems to get some support from the city and is minimally open to the public at hostile times, it therefore is allowed to sport the official NYC parks dept placard. I don't see why they don't have some sort of gate blocking entry during closed hours because they leave it wide open and they'll come rush out and tell you it's closed. Makes zero sense to do it that way if it is in essence a private hangout spot for residents. I don't believe the city should be supporting any park practicing...

My mom and I have been to this place and that my mom drove me there and that it was a nice day. There were people there and that they were taking care...
