Food Universe Marketplace — Attraction in New York

It's very unfortunate that I HAD TO leave this poor review. On August 31st 2025 at roughly 6:30pm. I walked into the beach channel location and went directly to the Deli counter where I asked the young men behind the counter If I could please purchase some shredded lettuce for sandwiches. At that time, a gentleman who worked behind the counter and was washing something in the sink said to the gentleman who was in front of me, we're closed. I then said, okay, I just wanted to know if you all had some pre shredded lettuce that I can purchase. The same gentleman at the sink. Chuckled a bit and then said in a very sarcastic way, "not right now, cause we're closed" 😐. At that moment, I extended my hand over the deli counter and said "You KNOW you just said that crazy right"

The deli guy put on a straight face and started apologizing.

The reason why I am writing this review is because I went out of my way to go to this particular Delhi. Counter to get something that I have purchased many times before. However, I did not appreciate the sarcastic. CommentThat was made from the man behind the counter, it hurt even more because I went out of my way to get to this location where I thought I had a decent connection with the staff.

I suppose not, I'll spend my money...

Husband and I Went to this store yesterday let me tell you this store had the lays stack of chips (BBQ) on the shelves still and the CHIPS EXPIRED TWO MONTHS AGO IN MAY ANOTHER SAID APRIL..WE ARE AT THE END OF JULY. THEY DO NOT CHECK THE DATES IN THIS STORE. HOW ARE YOU ALWAYS HAVING EMPLOYEES STOCK SHELVES BUT YOU HAVE EXPIRED PRODUCTS ON THE SHELVES FROM TWO MONTHS AGO??..THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE WITNESS EXPIRED PRODUCTS ON THE SHELVES IN THIS STORE. THANK GOD MY HUSBAND NOTICED THAT.. HE ALWAYS PAYS ATTENTION TO THOSE THINGS. My husband ended up getting me the wise BBQ. IT'S RIDICULOUS IT REALLY IS. WE SPENT $57.00 IN THIS STORE. THIS STORE NEEDS TO BE MORE THROUGH WITH EMPLOYEES ON THAT. THAT IS A SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD. OTHER SHOPPERS MIGHT NOT CHECK THE DATES LIKE I ALWAYS DO WHEN I GROCERY SHOP. THIS STORE IS ALSO SEVERELY OVER PRICED....

Only thing good is deli and western union . Their packaged meats smell like ammonia as in chicken cutlet , the ground beef or ground turkey and this has been multiple times i kept giving them chances thinking maybe it was something on their behalf . I purchased eggs a few times i crack open a egg and the egg yolk has blood inside of it . sometimes a language barrier . you ask questions they send you around the store asking mulitple people the same question noone can answer you or they have no answer . i use to love this store for the convience but they clearly show they dont care about the community or your well being or health . Just take the drive to STOP AND SHOP . better deals. You get wayyy more food for what you would spend here . better qualify fresh FRESH food...
