An absolutely gorgeous local bookstore with great ambiance and character. Although they have an extensive inventory, Freebirds specializes in books related to NY history and culture. Stumbled into Freebirds during an afternoon walk and was mesmerized by the floor to ceiling stacks and overall communal energy. Read moreIf you're a book lover, like me, I recommend this old fashioned bookstore. They have a great collection of books at very good prices. They also have a nice collection of books about New York. I bought a rare find for my collection on books about New York. I got it at a great price. It was $35 but the Gentleman working there sold it to me for $32 inc. tax. The people running the place were very nice and helpful as was a lady that was there who seemed to be a neighbor and frequent visitor. The only drawback is that it only opens on Saturdays and Sundays. It is worth waiting until the weekend to visit this 💎 gem of a...
