I’ve been coming to G & S my whole life—this place is Brooklyn. Martino, the next-generation proprietor, is keeping the tradition alive in a time when old-school pork stores are disappearing. He’s not just running a butcher shop—he’s doing a public service.
Everything here is classic, high-quality, and hand-trimmed. Whether you’re shopping for holiday roasts, ready-to-go cooked meals, or just grabbing one of the best sandwiches in Brooklyn, G & S delivers. It’s a true ma and pa shop, not some sterile corporate chain—and that’s exactly the point.
If you’re reading negative reviews, know this: most of those folks are new transplants who don’t understand what a real Brooklyn pork store is. G & S isn’t here to serve up Instagram vibes—it’s here to serve the neighborhood. And it’s been doing that beautifully for decades. It’s clean and the food is high quality without trying to upcharge or rip us off. He cares about sheepshead bay!

Be aware I would not go back to that...

Haven't had a chance to eat a lot of the prepared food, but I've chatted with other customers who really like it. Their seafood salad is the absolute best. Christmas for my family always starts with a trip to the pork store to pick up sausage, bracciol, and the fixings to make lasagna. If you want to go to an old-school butcher shop, this is the place. I try to go as...
