Hugo Auto Repair — Attraction in New York

Hello everyone, I'm Victor Hugo owner of this shop! Thank you for your reviews. However I would like to mention that there 3 post that I personally did not attend them in my shop.... Cortez is the 14 year old son of the owner master care next to my shop and some lady about some work we did on her car, I believe Suspension work for $2000. I personally change my own struts all four parts from the dealer and I spend 985 for the parts if I have to pay for the labor I would of spend 450. I remember every customer that I personally deal with and there is only two customer that have bought the struts from the dealer and she definitely didn't buy them from the dealer. I'm sorry that the gentleman felt bad about the muffler job.... but I personally remember him. I told him he needs to change both parts mufffler and center pipe that connects to muffler. Both where rotten. Customer refuse and was willing to take a chance. The gasket wasn't connecting firmly like it was required because other side where it connects was rotten. He new it and it was explained, that it didn't work out like he wanted . To all the customers who don"t have the knowledge wha a ASE certified mechanic is, let me give you an example. any one could paint a house does that make you a professional painter? anyone could cook, does that make you a chef? however does people who want their house to look professional painted or eat in a restaurant that the food just doesn't look good but taste great would pay for that kind of service. any one could change brake pads, however i seen customers who had crack heads from autozone put on brake pads backwards and tell me that they hear a strange noise when they are stopping. what was the problem they put it backwards ruining the rotors. now they paid for rotors that wasn't damaged. just like a chef would notice not to over cook your food a painter would know that a smooth finish would leave a neat look with fresh paint same way a REAL ASE mechanic would know the cause of failure parts and how to properly install, last if we do a job faster then the time said on the computer its not just the experience its the expensive tools that most "shops" who call themselves mechanics wont invest, but come to me so i can rent them my tools. remember this you will always get what you pay. and for the customers who THINK that coming to any auto shop is like visiting a fast food chain think again because if you have a leak in your radiator and you call me to see if i can repair it. remember that just like you their somebody else with the same problem who is before you. and its not like ordering a number 5 in a fast food restaurant and you would be serve with in 10 mins. most likely you would have to leave your car for some jobs. i would like also to apologize foe the 3 years i haven't been present at my shop due to my oversea marriage which now we are establish i know that i had some bad managers running the shop and gave the shop a bad taste, but does customer who know me, know how i take my business serios. thank you Victor...

I was in need of a local mechanic after going to Nissan maintenance services for years. I needed a few fluid replacements but I kept being turned away by every garage I went to. Most places tend to be stand offish and seem to be upset when you walk onto their business, as if you’re an inconvenience to them. Thankfully, I stumbled upon Hugo Auto Repair.

They were super friendly from the moment I arrived, much more welcoming. When I explained what I was looking for, they made accommodations to take care of me within just a few hours. I was in and out in about 2 hours. Plus I asked if they can take a look at my stabilizer because I had suspicions it had been giving me issues. So not only did they take me right on the spot but also took my last second request gracefully.

My liquids were changed and the new stabilizers I needed were taken care of too. They had all the parts in house! Again, all within a few hours.

I have to give my biggest thanks to Raul, Hugo and Victor. Raul did amazing work on my car and even walked me through his process and findings. They have very fair pricing and I don’t sense any ill will in their business dealings.

Hugo Auto Repair provided 5-Star service. Everyone wants to find a trustworthy mechanic who won’t abuse their knowledge and secretly hike up rates - I believe I found my trustworthy mechanics. I won’t be going back to Nissan’s dealership anymore. No more rude attitudes and hiked up rates for me! 🧰 🛠️ 💪🏽 🚗 👨‍🔧

EDIT: I just had my 2nd visit 2 weeks from my original posted review, this time my 10 year old muffler system needed repair. I can’t fully express how much I love these guys! A job that I thought would take days to complete, they did overnight. These guys go above and beyond and are truly special. I also love that they print/email receipts for you, unlike other places. For someone like me, having a receipt available also helps me track my car’s maintenance so much better. These guys are the best! Shout outs to Hugo,...

I needed to inspect my car in a new state, I was confident that my car will pass inspection with flying colors, but to my surprise, it didn’t pass... the inspection place at that other state said that my car had an engine oil leak and had to be fixed in order to pass inspection. I had a few days to inspect the car as my inspection was about to expire and I didn’t want to drive all the way to that state and fail inspection again. I was in a bit of a pickle as I needed to go to work and or not go to work and look around for a mechanic shop that will not take advantage and could fix the car properly. So I googled for a mechanic and drove around and end up at Hugo’s auto repair shop! Hugo and his staff were very professional and accommodating. They worked with my schedule. Hugo arranged for my car to be picked up and dropped off just like in the big and expensive dealerships! Hugo‘s auto repair shop billing and car repair process was transparent and convenient, he took pictures and videos of the work he did on my car, which in turn gave me confidence as ti was was actually being done to my car. He took the time to explain a few things that I was not aware about the car. My car was repaired in a very timely manner. I didn’t have to miss work or take extra time to deal with fixing my car. Hugo and his staff took care of the entire process… Later on I drove to the other state, and they inspected the car, and I passed inspection. Thank you Hugo and staff! Keep up...
