Valencia Bakery — Restaurant in New York

My father and I ordered a cake for the first time at Valencia by phone for my birthday yesterday. We asked for Vanilla Buttercream, with Fresh Strawberries and Banana Custard inside the cake and when the cake arrived it was already cracking. I didn't mind this, and the cake looked pretty, but when I cut a piece for my sister and I, the cake tasted Very Dry, and nasty, they put Strawberry Jam instead of fresh strawberries and there was NO BANANAS inside and the amount was very thin and not what we asked for.

The cake tasted OLD, completely disgusting, everyone at my birthday did not get to Enjoy any Cake because it was horrible, and it was not Buttercream at all as I asked too. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO Refunds they said which was not mentioned over the phone to us at all, and they gave us attitude the entire time. We spoke to a Stephanie and she told us we will deal with you tomorrow over the phone, which is VERY RUDE and Unprofessional, to say to CUSTOMERS that keep their Business a float. On top of that we did not get the full refund back, which was $30.60 and they only gave us $20.00 back, not the FULL REFUND like they should have given for that disgusting cake that ain't even worth $1. And they had the nerve to say if we wanted another cake.

On top of that the man that was the supposed be the owner or manager, was staring my father down like he was lying and looked like he was trying to pick a fight! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Save your money and go somewhere else, a child could do better at baking than what was given to us! I would give this NO STARS i...

I ordered a custom cake for my child’s birthday party. While the cake tasted good it was completely the wrong colors and did not match anything at the party. I sent a photo of the invitation asking if the colors of the invite could be used for the cake, showing an example of a cake design and a character. The cake I received was a dark blue and when I said it was the wrong color it was explained as being the stores lavender, it’s not even purple, it’s clearly blue. The color wasn’t anywhere near purple and while in the store we pointed out other cakes on display with lighter colors that would have matched the invitation better. Trying to be fair I said maybe their printer printed the colors of the invite darker than what I had sent and I was told they went based off the picture online, which is hard to believe because they showed me on their screen what it looked like and the colors were correct compared to the colors used on the cake. I was literally crying in the store and told that the people had left already for the day. Honestly paying $101 for a custom cake that was the wrong color and the image was simply printed onto the side it was not worth it. Especially seeing that they had other character cakes, larger, with more detailed decorations for $65. Definitely not going to use Valencia for custom cakes...

Bought a cake for my brother in law to bring to Georgia where he lives. 13 1/2 Hours away, pick it up at opening of the shop was promised it would be fresh made the day before. So in total the cake should be about 12 hours old at pick up. So, by the time I get to Georgia, it should be about 36 hours or less from being made. It was in a cooler all the way there. So, to keep it fresh. We were so excited to open immediately to wish him a Happy Birthday! Being that his family would buy him Valencia a cakes as a child and young adult. The joy of seeing the cake brought tears to his eyes. After tasting the cake , not only him but the rest of the family had this horrifying look and their faces. It was so dry and hard, and there was barely any pineapple filling. It looks like they took the spoon of pineapple filling, wiped it off with a towel, and then spread whatever was left over on the spoon in between the layes cake. The frosting tasted like soap. What to you people in Valencia. You should be ashamed of yourself. Putting such a crappy product out. The next morning, we went to BJs. And got a cake fresh cake from them at a 1/4 of the price that tasted 1000 times better. Shame on...
