I honestly don’t understand why there are so many bad reviews. I went on Monday around 1 PM, and there were very few people — which I actually liked a lot. The girl at the front desk was very nice. We asked her a lot of questions and she explained everything politely and clearly.
We paid $60 for the daytime entry (evening is a bit more), and instead of a massage, we chose the body scrub. We also left a $20 tip. The woman doing the scrub worked really hard — although she was clearly still gaining experience, she really gave it her best. I’ve had scrubs many times before, so I can tell the difference. Still, I’ll definitely book her again next time. The scrub lasted about 25-30 minutes I’m not exactly sure.
Yes, the spa is OLD — there’s one pool, 3 or 4 showers, and 2 steam rooms. But I don’t need a big, fancy spa. I liked that it’s only a 20-minute walk from my home!! They also offer free food — simple things like tea, salad, watermelon, and rice and etc. That was enough for us. I think for $80 total (entry + scrub tip +food ) it was reasonable.
I’ve been to more upscale spas that are much cleaner, prettier, and larger, but also way more expensive. As they say, you get what you pay for. What I liked most here was the front desk girl, the scrub lady, and the buffet staff — they were all very kind and quiet.
I was worried the place might be noisy, but it wasn’t. It felt very cozy. I think it was peaceful because we came on Monday afternoon when it was almost empty. If it had been a Friday night, I’m sure it would’ve been louder. So if you want to relax in a quiet atmosphere, definitely go on a weekday morning.
My friend and I were chatting loudly in our own language and felt like we were the only ones talking — that’s how peaceful it was! We loved the steam room too — not too hot, not too weak. Just right.
I felt completely safe and didn’t worry about my belongings at all. We stayed for 4–5 hours. Around 6 PM, more people started arriving. So next time, I’ll come even earlier — again on a Monday or Tuesday.
As for extra charges — there were none. We paid $60 entry and $20 tip at the front desk for the scrub. Next time, we’ll bring cash for tipping directly — we didn’t have any on us this time, or I would’ve tipped more.
Overall, I think this spa is a great LOCAL option. For the price, food, and scrub are definitely worth it. Of course, if you want something more luxurious, modern, and spacious with top-tier services, you’ll need to spend at least twice as much. For example, when we go to King Spa in New Jersey we usually end up spending around $180-200 total with travel, food, and scrub — and it takes 4 to 4.5 hours round trip on the subway + bus. So yes, we’ve got something to...
Read moreSo I’m gonna be completely honest about my stay here. There is a lot of things I liked and a lot of things I disliked so first they do have a sauna a hot tub, free, complementary Chinese food which would more than likely be soup and rice or vegetables, you would have to buy a beverage, but they do offer water and tea but anyways I wouldn’t return back here because of the way these people made me feel majority of the people that are there are people that work there and keep in mind they also live there too!!! No one seemed to give me any attitude, or anything the first day I booked and I didn’t feel uncomfortable, but the second day I booked I guess my presence made them feel like oh she’s back but she hasn’t spent much money so they gave me weird. Looks making me feel like why I was even there again. I don’t understand the reasoning for the rude looks and when it was time to get in the sauna, it wasn’t turned on. I asked the lady that was working there if she can turn it on but she kind of ignored me and acted as if I was bothering her then after the sauna finally was working I wanted to use the hot tub and I had to ask her again if she can turn it on she acted as if I was bothering her yet again smh It’s so crazy how I spent money on a service and these people act like you’re bothering them instead of wanting to just do what they’re supposed to be doing!!!!! also keep in mind if you’re not tipping them or paying extra for massages and they really don’t care for your presence moving foward the front desk reception dude he’s very bland. He’s not really the most kind, but he’s not super rude, but he doesn’t really care to speak with you. He just wants money. I wouldn’t recommend coming here again these people make you feel uncomfortable and yes the price the price is decent, but they expect you to spend more money and they make you feel like your wasting their time if you’re not giving them what they want Also, I wouldn’t recommend coming here at night. They had music blasting so freaking loud. There is a nightclub next to this location, they had music blasting all night. It was so irritating. I got no sleep at all. I keep telling you guys and warning you why I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are so many more affordable places to get a massage or to rest or relax and you don’t have to deal with dirty looks or disrespect or people that wanna be lazy and not work so this place deserve zero...
Read moreI recently visited Kings Spa in Brooklyn, and I must express my deep with the overall experience. To begin with, the condition of the bathing pools was subpar. It was evident that they were cutting corners to save energy, as the water circulation in the soaking pools was turned off. This not only affected the water quality but also hindered the overall experience. Moreover, the waterfall feature, which should enhance relaxation, was blocked and noticeably neglected. It's disheartening to see such a lack of maintenance. The sauna machine malfunctioned once during my visit,Having to call for assistance to restart the sauna was an inconvenience. However, the most concerning aspect was the decline in the buffet offerings. In the past, while not extravagant, the self-service buffet had a variety of options to choose from. Regrettably, on this recent visit, the buffet was shockingly understocked. A dish of chow mei fun noodle and noodle soup was the main offering, with virtually no other choices available. Even basics like tea eggs were restricted in quantity. This stark reduction in food options is a clear indicator of cost-cutting and a lack of consideration for the customers. It is evident that the current management's approach is a significant departure from what Kings Spa used to be. The decision to disabling water circulation in the pools and the decline in buffet offerings are prime examples of a short-sighted business strategy that prioritizes cost-saving over customer satisfaction. In conclusion, my recent visit to Kings Spa was nothing short of disappointing. The decline in the quality of facilities, coupled with the severe cutback in buffet choices, paints a clear picture of a business in decline. It's disheartening to witness such a deterioration in what was once a promising establishment. Unless there are substantial improvements, I regret to say that Kings Spa's closure might...
