I haven't been in this library since I was a kid. Boy has it changed. It's mostly tons of computers now and a bunch of teenagers napping on the desks. Probably skipping class. No enthusiasm for books. I saw no one reading a book or browsing. It's almost as like I'm the weirdo for looking at the books. Before the Internet this place was full of readers and people checking out magazines, newspapers renting movies. Kids having fun. Now it looks like a place to hide and be antisocial.

Today's 28th July, 2024 and I am reading a book that once stood in this library shelf. The book has some stamps from this library with stamp years of 1977 and 1978. It is hard to imagine how far this book travelled to reach my hands now in Brazil.

I had a really disappointing experience at this library. I was waiting in the children's area for my reserved private room to become available (only for about 10 minutes), as the other section was fully occupied. A librarian approached me and told me I couldn’t sit there, which seemed unnecessary given the situation. I then politely asked if I could access my private room a little earlier to prepare for my virtual meeting, as there was no one occupying it and no bookings prior to mine. Instead of simply explaining the protocol, the librarian rudely told me I should’ve booked earlier. Very unhelpful and frustrating...

Patrons talk over phone for long time while disturbing other readers. And no one cares. A lot of teen visitors careless about silence and order. For two weeks in a row they didn't have wifi for some technical reason. The restroom is very dirty and smells. The libe is also pretty small. No water fountain, by the way, which is present in most of the libraries across the US. But anyways it's good that we have at least this option for learning and education purposes. Thank you for that but the score...
