This place is a nightmare If I could give it negative stars I would. I brought my Kia Sorrento in for some repairs and recalls on October 1, 2018. I paid $1,800 for my repairs. I brought the car home on October 8th. 3 days later it was pouring rain, I went to get in my car after work and the entire roof liner was bulging with water, water dripping all over my back seat. After standing up on my side step rails to see the roof... the entire roof was dented in, holes where punctured in the roof, my roof rails and ski racks were cracked. the car is an SUV so you could not see this unless you climbed up to the roof. After bringing the car back to Plaza Kia they reviewed the camera in the shop and came to the conclusion that when my car was put on the lift it was raised to high and the beam hit my roof. So the technician that worked on my car thought he would fool me by letting me leave with the car. I guess he figured it would never rain. I was promised that my roof would be fixed, being it was completely their fault. It is now February 13, 2019 and they still have my car. I can not even begin to explain what they have put me through. They LIE, LIE, LIE AND LIE SOME MORE. they tell me the car is fixed and I can come pick it up. When I arrive (several times) the roof is still dented, the liner inside the car completely separated and the roof rail is not even attached entirely to the roof and bent. They got wax all over the car, and compound splattered around the trim. When I got upset that this is how they were returning my car, Orlando, who was the one at that time handling it, Slammed my trunk door and stormed away. I asked him if this were his car would he be pleased with how it was being returned? He said no! So I asked him then why are you the one getting upset. You damaged my car when I paid you for a service and you have been lying to me for months and months about it being fixed as well as not fixing it properly. They wind up keeping the car to try again to repair it. I sent someone who owns his own auto body shop to inspect my car and they told me the car was in Staten Island getting fixed at a different body shop. IT WAS NOT. It was still sitting there, they didn't want someone that knew what they were doing to inspect it.... I am now dealing with Sameer. Sameer is the biggest liar I have ever come across in my life. my car has sat in his care for weeks and he didn't have any work done. Just denied anything was wrong and then yessed me to death about what was being repaired. I again sent someone there to inspect my car because I was tired of being lied to. I sent my brother, my husband and the auto body guy. They refused to bring my car down from the lift until I had to call screaming. Because again they did not complete any repairs and didn't want the car inspected. When they finally did bring it down, Sameer did nothing but lie and talk to them like morons. They were all in disbelief at what kind of establishment this place is and who they have handling it..And now because my car has sat in their possession for 4 1/2 months without being started the battery is drained. Which Sameer again tried to get over on me, by telling me he charged the battery and it is fine. Meaning I will get home and once I turn the car back on it won't start. And then I am responsible for buying a new battery. I Have been trying to reach the general manager Dominick Mele, who does nothing as well. He won't answer an email or return a phone call. At this point I have requested that they refund my $1,800 for the original repairs considering they have done nothing but very poor patchwork on my car and my roof is still damaged. They will not refund the money. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. I am picking my car up Friday and I am going straight to small claims court to file paperwork to sue them. because that is the only way I will get my money back. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR THERE. Since I have brought my car and have been telling my story to other people I have come across a few with horror stories...

Out of respect I will use X to associate names:
GM - X1 Finance Manager X2 Sale rep X
The General sales manager " X1", was amazing. Let me start there. I would give him 5 stars and the Rep 3 stars ( because I feel like a was a burden to him after the sale). Overall service experience a ( ONE star if any.)
Although things I was promised that are in writing on paper have yet to be completed after a month + from April 20th, 2024, up to today's date, June 2nd, 2024, when writing this first review. Not one promise regarding the addendum draft while doing the sales for the car has been completed.
Ambient Lighting in and outside of my car, just like the ones I traded on my Kia SELTOS 2023 The running board
I honestly don't know where to start.
But let's start with the Sales rep "X" a nice guy. However, our conversation had a very rocky, combative start; I almost walked out. We argued about the price of the car and trade, which he said was impossible to give because of market pricing, etc. In the end, I got the price I wanted thanks to "X1", who said his boss approved the total and final price, which was over 18k less than the Price "X" the sales rep and I argued about. ( I almost paid $18k more for the car)
Let's move to the credit approval. Horrible horrible. He was so professional and spoke a great game. One of his lines is, " he is very transparent, and he will not do shady deals that will negatively impact his customers." Note I paraphrased a little.
Oh my God, was that statement wrong? Now, because the process was very long and it was closing time, we had to rush the paperwork.
I thought the price quoted with "X1" and the sales rep "X" would have been the same price I am signing for. But because we were rushing, I asked him if I could review the documents thoroughly when I got home, and if I didn't agree, a change could be made, and he agreed.
Amazing
When I got home, a total of $4990 was added to the bill, things I didn't ask for during the sales negotiations. As I said, I thought what I was signing for was the price I agreed to with 'X1" and my sales rep "X".
Within less than an hour of signing the documents, I live 6 minutes away from Plaza Kia. I texted GM 'X1" that the price was $4990 more than what I had agreed to. He was very professional and nice enough to say I should come in in the morning to correct it.
Which I did.
O Lord, that did not sit well with the finance manager.
He said he couldn't resubmit the paperwork. We will have to start a refund check process.
Being the nice guy I am, I said ok. He told me now I have to call the companies Power Protect and Tire ( something I don't remember the name of now). He can not do it.
Boy, was that information incorrect?
I called the companies, and they told me I must work with the dealership to get the refund done.
So I drafted and signed a refund request letter and took it to the Finance manager " X2," who was not very pleased about the situation based on my observation of his body language.
Fast forward. I had to call the company , Power Protect, who gave me a check # and told me they sent one of the checks, $2990, to Kia Brooklyn, which they should have received on May 17th. So I called Kia Brooklyn back and spoke with another finance manager who said they only send checks out once a month, but they will email procurement to look for my check and possibly mail it to Kia Financial on May 30th.
This shows how the company values our business.
As a customer, I have to do all their backend follow-up.
That is sad.
O this review is to be continued because: My account is still not refunded the $4990 The adjustment per contract still needs to be completed on the car.
Note: A customer should not have to be going through this after spending their...
Read moreWe planned to buy a Kia as our family's first car, but due to a pattern of dishonesty and poor customer service at this dealership, we did not buy from them and we are planning to buy a vehicle from another manufacturer. We could not recommend purchasing a vehicle from Kia to any of our friends, family, or colleagues. The entire experience was that terrible:
-After my 9-month pregnant wife called twice to confirm that the car we wanted to test drive was on the lot, we showed up to be told that it did not exist. -After deciding to go with another car that was on the lot, we were constantly met with evasive and passive-aggressive communication. For example, they couldn't answer questions about the contract because their salesperson "never actually read the fine print." -They lie repeatedly. For example, we asked several times if the car would be cleaned prior to pick-up and they assured us it would. When we showed up, the interior was in the same state as it was during our test drive: fingerprints on the center console, dirt on the back seat, and scuffs on the interior doors at foot level. -When we went to pick up the car, the mileage was 11 more than the contract stated. We can only imagine they continued to let people test-drive the car after we signed for it, but they claimed it was a mistake.
The trend here must either be dishonesty or incompetence.
We backed out of the deal due to the consistent lies, shady behavior, and lack of ownership by anyone working at this dealership. They refunded our deposit, but they refused to provide us with any documentation of this at the lot. They promised to email a refund receipt the next day, but they failed at accomplishing this simple task: we never received a confirmation, and when we followed up, they were evasive and questioned why we needed one even though they promised to provide us with one.
Every concern we raised was met only with evasion or excuses. Despite the stress, time, and travel expenses that my pregnant wife and I spent over the past week, nobody we spoke to at Kia apologized to us for any individual issue or for this overall experience. We even emailed a regional manager, to which we never received a response.
I notice a lot of these negative reviews have a manager responding asking for the reviewer to contact them directly so they can "personally help." I'm not buying this. We gave Carlos, a manager, several opportunities to "make it right", but he only exacerbated these problems.
Without any additional experience with Kia, we have to assume that this experience is representative of the Kia brand and their values, which is why we are seeking out similar vehicles at other...
