Butterfly Daycare Center — Local services in New York

I am a special education teacher and visit many different schools and daycares all around Brooklyn. I've experienced many different settings in numerous areas. Butterfly is definitely one that sticks out to me. I would recommend this school to parents who are looking for a great early education for their children. The staff is absolutely wonderful and very attentive to students of different needs. The teachers, in particular, are very dedicated and knowledgeable. They genuinely love and care about each and every one of their students and constantly encourage them to do their best. The preschool teachers, especially, really prepare their students for kindergarten. Children have great one to one attention throughout the day, along with small and large group activities. There is also wonderful outdoor space that teachers utilize every chance they get, which is very important. The director is very responsive and does her best to meet any reqauests from parents. Took my 5 year old here for a scheduled tour after my husband was told over the phone that they accept kids his age. Walked all the way there after a hectic morning only to be told they don't, despite the fact that their website literally states, " Butterfly welcomes children ages 2-5." We just moved here from Texas and wanted him to get some school prep before putting him in public school, thought this was the place to do it and was lead to believe so. Not sure why we were spun a story that runs contradictory to what their site says and what we were told over the phone. Honestly I'm glad because the place was dark and sad and small but I had to drag a crying, disappointed 5 year old out and figure out how to explain to him that we were lied to. I wouldn't bother with a day care that can't even keep its story straight about what ages of kids they accept. COMPLETE...

I absolutely love Butterfly Daycare. The daycare has a very welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. The daycare has a very structured schedule, that includes plenty of time for physical activities such as weekly dance, music, and gym time. There are also daily reading sessions,group activities,and free time. The curriculum is very stimulating, and age appropriate. A qualified and caring staff is always there for your child. The food is top of the line. Butterfly Daycare has catered Kosher food. Healthy food habits start early and Butterfly Daycare provides healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with plenty of healthy snacks in between. The center itself is very clean and sanitary.
