I recently had to get the screen of my MacBook replaced, and the entire experience with the service provider left me extremely dissatisfied.
What was truly frustrating, however, was the inconsistency in the pricing for the new screen. Throughout the process, the owner kept providing different price quotes, leaving me feeling uneasy and unsure about the final cost.
Upon receiving my MacBook, I quickly noticed that the rubber band around the screen was entirely damaged. This oversight was partly my fault for not thoroughly inspecting the laptop before leaving the store, as I had trusted the owner's competence. Moreover, during nighttime use, I observed visible backlight issues, which were not present before the repair.
I decided to return to the store and bring up the issues with the damaged rubber band. The owner assured me that they would fix it and promised to call me once it was ready. However, the promised call never came. Two weeks passed, and I reached out to the store, only to be given the same assurance of a prompt repair and a call the next day. This pattern of unfulfilled promises and lack of communication continued for another week.
Finally, I decided to take matters into my own hands and informed the owner that I would pick up my laptop the next day. This seemed to spur some action, as they managed to replace the damaged rubber band. However, upon inspection, I discovered that the screen was making an unusual noise when lifted, indicating further damage or poor workmanship. I immediately pointed this out to the owner, but their attitude was dismissive and rude.
The owner's unwillingness to take responsibility for the shoddy repair work and their poor customer service was a stark disappointment. It was clear that they were more interested in rushing through jobs and saving a few hundred dollars rather than ensuring the quality and satisfaction of their customers.
In summary, I would strongly advise against seeking any services from this store for MacBook screen replacements or any other repair needs. The lack of professionalism, poor work quality, and irresponsible behavior of the owner make it a regrettable and frustrating experience. It is not worth the potential consequences of dealing with such an establishment, and I would encourage others to seek a more reputable and reliable...
Read moreMy iPhone 11 got water damage, when we went on a the boat trip to Isla Mujeres, Cancun. We were arranged to do snorkeling in the middle of the ocean, and my waterproof phone-case got leakage with the salt water coming into the bottom of the bag…When I got the iPhone out from the case, it was still working. I continued to use the phone until the liquid detection warning showed up!
A lot of weird things showed up on the iPhone screen, i.e. the black dots, bright straps, foggy background…Eventually all the apps disappearing with only the aurora lights blinking…It is so devastating for me because all these 23,000 photos and videos were not backed up before the trip. So many beautiful moments and memories are all gone. I feel very guilt, upset and depressed. After we got off the plane, we went to the iPhone store, they blamed me for not getting iCloud then suggested that I get a new phone. In terms of repair, the younger guy was honest enough and told us to go to the 3rd party data recovery store to try our luck. He did mention that salt water caused erosion immediately and the pictures and phone might probably not be saved. We checked those stores in New Jersey, where there were very few providers. They work only weekdays from 10-4. It will take up to 3 weeks if it’s still restorable. My husband then attempted to change the screen by getting the replacement screen from Amazon, but this new screen still failed to light up. We then thought about coming back to the city. We Googled some stores in New York and Brooklyn. We found this store and talked to the owner, Prabath, he seemed pretty confident. He asked us to bring in the phone the same day.
The next day he already called us to come pick up the phone. All those 23,000 pictures and videos have been totally restored and backed up on a hard drive. Miraculously enough, he was able to fix the phone and it worked again like before! I just can’t believe it! All that was once lost were recovered! My gratitude is far beyond words. Tears came out when I heard as well as eye witnessed of what he has done! Prabath is so knowledgeable, and what’s important he cares and responds so quickly to help. The repair services are amazing, far beyond what we expect, with a very reasonable charge. I definitely owe him...
Read moreI love supporting local business and would have been happy to give this place 5 starts but unfortunately my experience was HORRIFIC. I was in desperate need of a computer and walked in trusting that the owner would sell me a computer that fit my budget and was in good condition. He sold me one and told me he'd be able to take all the information off my old computer and place it on the new one. I was told I'd receive a call once the information was transferred. I never received a call and had to follow up days later. After confirming on the phone that it was all transferred, I went in to pick up the $200 dell laptop. Brought it home and screen kept shutting off so I went back in to get my money back. He insisted he can fix it and would call me once fixed. I agreed because I wanted to give this place a chance. Once AGAIN, didn't receive a call so I had to call more than once and leave MULTIPLE messages. Finally got a hold of him and he informed me it was fixed for days (which was incredibly frustrating). I went back, retrieved the "fixed laptop" only to realize a day later that it wouldn't work without the charger being plugged in. I'm sure he knew this when he gave me back the laptop but didn't want to mention it because he knew I'd ask for my money back. VERY SHADY. At that point, I had already wasted weeks with this company and just took it as a loss and kept the computer. One year later, computer doesn't work anymore even when plugged in with charger. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS STORE. You're better off going to a legit company that won't lie to you or try to...
