S&D Moving and Storage Co. — Attraction in New York

My girlfriend was quoted $600 for a moving job. When I arrived on the scene the guys were taking their time, on their phones and I had to step in to help. This was a 5 flight walk down building. The job got done in 4 hours. If I did not step in to help they would’ve easily taken 6 hours and taken advantage of a woman. Upon finishing my lady was texted “you forgot to add gratuities”. She thought that meant it was mandatory. A job that was quoted at $600 ended up costing me 4 hours of my time and energy and a grand total of $1200+. If we knew this is how much they would’ve shooken us down for we wouldn’t have gone with S&D. Use this company at your own risk and remember even if you get a text telling you that you forgot tip it is optional. I am a bit late writing my review for Jon & Alfonso, who moved my classroom materials, books, furniture, etc. from La Jolla High School, on June 29, 2016. These gentlemen arrived at the designated time, were given just a few instructions, since they knew "exactly" what to do. The job was completed within the estimated time and stacked in my garage with no instructions, since they assessed the space and knew how to allow space for movement and accessibility. I was very intentional about finding a black owned business and S&D popped up in my search results. I'm beyond grateful for David and his team on working within my budget. I had a studio apartment that I was moving out of and didn't feel like I had that much stuff. S&D was super efficient, adding the finishing touches to breaking down the applicable furniture, putting it back together, while handling my items with care. They were great to work with. Moving in the middle of a pandemic could be stressful enough. I felt at ease and taken care of with them.
