Seth Low Park – A Place for Community, Family, and History
As a Top 10% Google Park Reviewer, I’ve visited countless parks across NYC, but Seth Low Park holds a special place in my heart. This park isn’t just green space—it’s a hub of community, activism, and family.
I’ve organized large-scale rallies and meetings here, including powerful gatherings in honor of Yusuf Hawkins, bringing people together for a cause that matters. Seth Low has been a stage for unity, resilience, and positive change.
Beyond activism, this park has been a great spot for family time. I’ve had amazing moments here with my children—whether it's watching them play, enjoying a peaceful afternoon, or just soaking in the energy of the community. The playground, open spaces, and courts make it an ideal place for both fun and reflection.
Seth Low Park is a true Brooklyn gem—a place where history is made, families bond, and the neighborhood comes alive. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and experience it...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was a little kid. The renovation really changed it for the better for the most part. There's a good chance for a water fountain or more to get broken. It gets crowded during most days, even if it's a school day and during weekend nights-people host their own soccer games and have food around.
At a certain time in spring-the trees on the pathways have pink blossoms and it looks beautiful. There is quite a tendency for the park to end up messy and left over food or trash is just left behind.
Dog walkers can't really let their dogs roam freely unless it's late at night and even then, there has to be a close eye due to them unnecessarily removing the gates and not adding them to the newer places (basketball, handball, and soccer field).
Overall-great park but would be even better with more trashcans, lights, and gates...
Read moreIt is a beautifully designed old park with the history starting from the beginning of 20 st century. Recently it undergone a few devastating hurricane impacts and lost a most of the big old trees along West 12 street, that created a lively alley and provided a shade that saved people during the very hot summer seasons in the past. This was gradually destroyed and does not exist anymore. I have been living in the neighborhood for 17 years and not a single tree was planted to replace lost ones at this location. Lately the park is neglected and its pavements are in bad condition for many years, creating a danger for pedestrians. The things updated were the playground for kids and benches. This is the only park available for very densely populated neighborhood and I wish it would be in a better condition to keep a century...
