Mixed review. Previously found it a reliable alternate form of public transportation, but now it seems ferries arrive at BAT from Wall Street without having had their capacity appropriately managed. Despite massive lines here, the boat only allowed 14 passengers to board. Unless @nycedc implements new processes there’s little reason to believe this will change. The message seems to be, “wall street passengers have bought tickets and the captain will allow them [all] to board.” Which says to me, ticket holding passengers elsewhere in the system are inappropriately de-prioritized.

Select ferries that serve the Manhattan - Rockaways (Queens) route stop here, ostensibly for Brooklyn residents who want to take the ferry to or from those two destinations. However, passengers without a car or who don't live within a short distance will find that transfers from the ferry station are quite inconvenient. The nearest subway is at least a 20-minute uphill walk and is served by the perpetually slow and unreliable R train. Buses require the same amount of effort. On the ferry station itself, there are no noteworthy passenger amenities to speak of.

The ferry station on Pier 11 in Manhattan is not that much better but at least provides convenient transfers. The ferry ride, however, is an entirely different story - it's comfortable and pleasant. I wish the same can be said about the...

Zero way-finding from nearest subway station. Ferry departed two minutes early, so I had to wait 40 minutes for the next ferry. It’s a commuter service for people who drive and park, not a viable public transit option.

The ride itself however is charming, maybe too rocky on some days for those who are seasick prone. They have a nice selection of concessions. And you can’t beat it for views of Manhattan and the...
