
I took my teenage son for a haircut. It was his first time here. For starters, there is such a welcoming feeling at this place. I've been to quite a few since my son's barber (his cousin) moved to a different state and this place gave a welcoming feeling. The time and detailed attention given by his barber was hands-down one of the best. He didn't rush, at all. And I also noticed my son was having a conversation with his barber. It was very surprising as my son doesn't converse with the barber. At a glance, it looked like he felt very comfortable, and that put a huge smile on my face. And to confirm, I asked how he felt, and he said he liked the place and the customer care given by Juan. Thank you for this. We will be back, God willing.
UPDATE: After Juan left, I took my son for a haircut, hoping for the same level of service we received from him. Unfortunately, I had already paid for the service and left a tip at the front desk before the haircut was completed. Had I known that a simple tape-up would cost $50, I would have preferred to pay for a full haircut instead and would have been much happier with the result.
I believe it's important to mention that it's never ideal to pay for a service before it's finished, as there’s an old saying in Spanish: “músico pago no toca bien.” This situation felt a bit like that, as I wasn’t able to address my concerns in the moment or request any adjustments.
My sister also had a similar experience and felt that the price charged didn’t match the service her son received, and unfortunately, I’ve come to the same conclusion. Additionally, my son expressed that he didn’t feel comfortable with the barber—there was little interaction, and no one asked if he wanted his eyebrows cleaned or offered to make adjustments. I understand that extra services may come at an additional cost, but it’s important for barbers to engage with their clients to ensure they are happy with the results.
While I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality service, the pricing felt excessive for what was delivered. I ended up having to take my son to a different barber the same day to fix the top of his hair and clean his face, paying more for that as well.
